Bangkok Health Service vs Max Hair: Surgeons, Prices and Booking Compared (2026)
One Max Hair patient was nervous about paying a deposit before ever meeting the clinic. In a four-month update, they wrote: "Overall I've been really happy with both the treatment during and the results" (r/HairTransplants, August 2025).
If you're weighing Bangkok Health Service against Max Hair for a hair transplant in Bangkok, the published sources back three differences. Bangkok Health Service publishes a fuller price menu, from ฿79,000 for treatment-only FUE, but its price and package pages name no hair transplant surgeon. Max Hair names five doctors, one of them listed in the ISHRS directory, and has branches in Bangkok and Phuket.
On what they publish, neither comes out ahead overall. Which one fits depends on what you need settled before you fly: a full price list, a doctor you can look up, a no-shave price or written surgical roles.

Who Each Clinic Is
Bangkok Health Service
Bangkok Health Service publishes consultation and treatment planning in Bangkok. Its medical package overview says it coordinates hospital or clinic appointments, treatment planning, hotels, transfers and local support.
So it arranges the surgery rather than presenting itself as the clinic that performs it. Its hair transplant price page doesn't name the doctor who operates, and its pages don't say how long it has arranged hair transplants.
Its four-night package page bundles treatment with four hotel nights, breakfast and private airport transfers. We also compare it with another Bangkok option in HE Clinic vs Bangkok Health Service.
Ask Bangkok Health Service which clinic or hospital would perform your surgery, and get that name on your quote.
Max Hair
Max Hair calls itself a hair transplant clinic in Bangkok. Its homepage says it has nine branches across Thailand, including Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya, and its about page lists addresses in Bangkok and Phuket.
The Bangkok address is 3 Soi Lat Phrao 89, Wang Thong Lang. So Max Hair has a Phuket branch but isn't a Phuket-only clinic.
On the pages we read, it doesn't say how long it has done hair transplants or which doctors work at which branch.
If you book Max Hair, get the branch and the doctor's name in writing.
The Surgeons and Their Credentials, as Each Clinic Publishes Them
Bangkok Health Service
Bangkok Health Service's price and package pages name no hair transplant surgeon. That leaves nothing to compare on credentials until it tells you who would operate. It may tell you if you ask.
Once you have a name, you can look it up on the Thai Medical Council register, the ABHRS physician directory and the ISHRS Find a Doctor page.
Dr. Disorn Vasuntaraporn (Dr. Mac), Max Hair
Max Hair's profile of Dr. Disorn calls Dr. Disorn a hair restoration surgeon and lists FUE Hair Transplantation Training at Saint Louis University. That's the clinic's statement.
The ISHRS directory lists Dr. Disorn as a Full Member at Max Hair Clinic in Bangkok, with 2025 as the year joined. That shows membership of a professional society. It isn't a board certification, and it doesn't measure results.
Dr. Rapheephon Puengphiphattrakul (Dr. House), Max Hair
Max Hair's profile of Dr. Rapheephon calls Dr. Rapheephon a hair restoration surgeon. It lists an Implanter Workshop for Hair Transplantation.
Dr. Thanakorn Preechasuchad (Dr. Korn), Max Hair
Max Hair's profile of Dr. Thanakorn calls Dr. Thanakorn a hair restoration surgeon. It lists the 6th World FUE Institute Workshop 2023.
Dr. Kritagorn Yungyuen (Dr. Krit), Max Hair
Max Hair's profile of Dr. Kritagorn calls Dr. Kritagorn a hair restoration surgeon. It lists a Bachelor of Medicine from Mahidol University.
Dr. Jiraporn Jongthitinon (Dr. Jang), Max Hair
Max Hair's profile of Dr. Jiraporn calls Dr. Jiraporn a hair restoration surgeon. It lists board certification in Emergency Medicine and an Implanter Workshop at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
The board certification it names is in emergency medicine, not hair restoration. That doesn't rule out hair training, and the profile lists an implanter workshop too.
For these four doctors, every credential above is Max Hair's own statement. You can look each name up on the Thai Medical Council register and the ABHRS and ISHRS directories.
Check the operating doctor's name on the Thai Medical Council register yourself before you pay a deposit.
Technique and Equipment
Both list FUE, a DHI option and a long-hair, no-shave option. In FUE, grafts are taken out one at a time from the donor area at the back of the head.
Bangkok Health Service's price page names FUE, FUI / DHI and Long Hair non-shave. Its pages we read describe no equipment.
Max Hair's homepage names FUE, MCG, DHI, Non-Shave and Long Hair. Its Thai-language page names Non-Shaven FUE and describes an implanter pen in its DHI section.
The same page describes MCG as a method where a doctor uses specialized small instruments to extract and transfer grafts. Max Hair's package table puts its Gold package on FUE and its Premium and Platinum packages on MCG.
Neither lists FUT, the strip method, on the pages we read. The technique names differ from clinic to clinic. So a label alone won't tell you the method.
Ask each how your grafts will be taken out and put in, by name of technique, for your own case.
Who Does Which Step
A hair transplant has three hands-on stages: taking grafts out, making the recipient sites, and placing the grafts. Clinics split them between doctor and staff in different ways.
The ISHRS says FUE harvesting should be "physician-driven and performed", while grafts are placed "most often by the trained staff". So staff placing grafts is normal practice.
Bangkok Health Service publishes nothing on this. With no surgeon named, there's no published split to read.
Max Hair doesn't publish a clinic-wide split either. One patient who had 2,700 grafts with Dr. Rapheephon wrote: "He did the extraction, and hole insertion," and "His technicians did the placement while he supervised" (r/HairTransplants, September 2024).
In a 2025 thread about a 2,800-graft procedure, a poster put it more briefly: "Dr house did the critical parts" (r/Hairtransplant, September 2025). Both describe single procedures, not a Max Hair rule.
Ask both in writing: which steps will the surgeon do, and which will staff do?
Published Prices and What Is Included
Bangkok Health Service publishes two kinds of price. Treatment-only prices sit on its price page, and four-night packages with hotel and transfers sit on a package page.
Max Hair publishes one priced offer, the FUE-MAX promotion. On the pages we read, its full packages carry no price.
| Offer, as the business labels it | Price | Our conversion | What the page says it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangkok Health Service, FUE, treatment only | ฿79,000 | about $2,380 | Unlimited grafts within safe donor-hair capacity, the clinical plan, medication, planned washes, scheduled follow-up |
| Bangkok Health Service, FUI / DHI, treatment only | ฿120,000 | about $3,620 | Same terms as FUE |
| Bangkok Health Service, Long Hair non-shave, treatment only | ฿130,000 | about $3,920 | Same terms as FUE |
| Bangkok Health Service, four-night FUE package (shaven) | from ฿94,000 | about $2,840 | Four hotel nights with breakfast, private airport transfers, medication, scheduled washing, follow-up care |
| Bangkok Health Service, four-night Long Hair package (non-shaven) | ฿145,000 | about $4,380 | Four-night package on the same page |
| Max Hair, "The All Graft Promotion" (FUE-MAX) | ฿89,000 | about $2,690 | 12-month laser stimulation course, 12-month hair-washing course; no graft count stated |
Prices from Bangkok Health Service's price page and four-night package page, and Max Hair's promotion page, read 20 October 2026. Dollars at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026), rounded to the nearest $10.
Bangkok Health Service's price page says it was published 30 July 2025 and updated 31 August 2026. It says the scalp prices cover unlimited grafts within safe donor-hair capacity.
Ask what that capacity means in grafts for your scalp. The page doesn't put a number on it. So the cap depends on your donor area, as the clinic judges it.
Max Hair's promotion page states no graft count, no per-graft rate and no branch it applies to. It lists no separate price for DHI, MCG, Non-Shave or Long Hair.
Max Hair's all-inclusive package page names Gold, Premium and Platinum packages and lists complimentary follow-up. It publishes no price for any of them.
The ฿79,000 and ฿89,000 figures look close, but they describe different things. One is a treatment-only price, and the other is a promotion bundled with a year of laser and washing courses. So the lower number isn't always the lower bill.
Ask each for a written quote with your graft count, and what the price becomes if the count changes on the day.
What Bangkok Health Service Patients Report Paying
We found no patient-reported price for a hair transplant arranged through Bangkok Health Service. Its published menu above is the only figure we can point you to.
What Max Hair Patients Report Paying
These figures come from patient posts, each dated by the post, so all of them are patient-reported. None is a current Max Hair price, and prices may have moved since.
| Post date | What the poster reported | Grafts | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 2024 | USD 4,500, including six months of post-surgery medication | 2,700 | r/HairTransplants |
| April 2025 | About USD 5,000 for a planned second procedure | 2,700 | r/HairTransplants |
| September 2025 | ฿125,000 package | 2,800 | r/Hairtransplant |
The September 2025 package works out to about ฿45 a graft by our arithmetic (฿125,000 / 2,800). The September 2024 bill is about $1.67 a graft (USD 4,500 / 2,700), with six months of medication included.
The patient from the opening was quoted 2,500 grafts and received 2,800 at the same price (r/HairTransplants, August 2025).
Across five other Bangkok clinics, patients report paying ฿36-123 per graft (31 reports and quotes, 2023 to 2026). Our Bangkok hair transplant cost guide sets those figures side by side.
Shaven or Non-Shaven: What Each Charges
Both offer a version where the area being treated isn't shaved. Only Bangkok Health Service publishes a price for it.
Bangkok Health Service's four-night package page calls its FUE option a shaven scalp transplant and its Long Hair option non-shaven. Treatment-only, Long Hair is ฿130,000 against ฿79,000 for FUE; in the four-night packages it's ฿145,000 against ฿94,000.
Max Hair names Non-Shave and Long Hair on its homepage, and Non-Shaven FUE on its Thai-language page. It publishes no separate price for any of them, so don't read the ฿89,000 FUE-MAX figure as a no-shave quote. It might cover one, but the page doesn't say.
Ask each to mark on your photos what would be trimmed or shaved, at the back and on top.
Our non-shaven hair transplant guide explains what the labels can mean.
Waiting Times and Booking Terms
Neither publishes a waiting time, a deposit amount or refund terms on the pages we read. So from the outside, neither can be called faster to book.
Both offer a consultation before you travel to Thailand. Bangkok Health Service lists a video consultation, with routes on its contact page, and Max Hair offers an online consultation.
The patient in the opening was nervous about paying a Max Hair deposit before meeting the clinic. A written booking takes most of that guesswork out.
Before you buy flights to Thailand, get four things in writing: the surgery date, the named doctor, the deposit amount, and what happens to the deposit if the plan changes.
How You Reach Each Doctor
Bangkok Health Service offers a video consultation before travel, WhatsApp and an enquiry form. With no hair transplant doctor named, you can't ask for one by name until it tells you who would operate.
Max Hair says international patients can book an online consultation before traveling, and lists WhatsApp on its homepage. It names its surgeons but doesn't say which doctor your pre-travel consultation will be with.
Send both the same photos and the same questions. If you want to speak with the operating doctor before you fly, ask for that doctor by name. Not every clinic will agree.
Aftercare, Follow-Up and Guarantees
Bangkok Health Service's treatment-only list includes medication, planned washes and scheduled follow-up. Its four-night package lists medication, scheduled washing and follow-up care.
No outcome guarantee appears on its price or package pages.
Max Hair's homepage names post-transplant follow-up care without a schedule, and its package table lists complimentary follow-up. The FUE-MAX promotion includes a 12-month laser stimulation course and a 12-month hair-washing course.
The package table also lists a "Free Corrective Procedure". The name is Max Hair's own. Read the terms behind it before you count on it.
Ask Max Hair who qualifies for the corrective procedure, for how long, and who decides.
Patients describe the washing in practice. One 2,800-graft patient described daily washes at the clinic for their remaining five days in Bangkok (r/Hairtransplant, September 2025).
Another, returning for a planned second procedure, wrote: "Includes daily follow-ups and washings for 2 weeks" (r/HairTransplants, April 2025).
A Max Hair patient at four and a half weeks wrote: "virtually all of my implanted hair has already shed" (r/HairTransplants, June 2026). The AAD says "between two and eight weeks after the surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out. This is normal."
So shedding at four and a half weeks falls inside that window. If it worries you, ask the clinic anyway.
Ask both how follow-up works once you're home: who reviews your photos, at which months, and through what channel.
What Patients Report About Bangkok Health Service
We found no first-hand hair transplant account naming Bangkok Health Service that we could quote.
Because it arranges treatment with hospitals and clinics, the accounts that matter are about the clinic and doctor who operate. Get those names first, then search for patients who had surgery with them.
What Patients Report About Max Hair
These are single accounts from patient posts, each dated by the post. They don't add up to a success rate.
A poster who reported 2,800 grafts wrote: "The injections were a little uncomfortable but very short lived" (r/Hairtransplant, September 2025).
The four-month patient from the opening was nervous about the deposit beforehand. Afterward they were "really happy with both the treatment during and the results" (r/HairTransplants, August 2025).
A September 2026 thread asking about Max Hair Thailand and Dr. Mac drew both sides. One commenter wrote: "I am quite disappointed in the result."
Another commenter in the same thread said they'd used Max Hair in Bangkok the year before and had good results (r/HairTransplants, September 2026).
When you read posts like these, note which doctor and branch each patient names. Then ask Max Hair about the doctor you'd get.
How to Choose Between Them
If you want a full price list before you talk to anyone, Bangkok Health Service publishes more of one. It lists treatment-only prices for FUE, FUI / DHI and Long Hair, plus four-night packages.
If you want a named doctor you can look up, Max Hair names five, and Dr. Disorn has an ISHRS directory listing. Bangkok Health Service names no surgeon on its price and package pages.
If you want a no-shave price in advance, only Bangkok Health Service publishes one. Max Hair offers Non-Shave and Long Hair but publishes no separate price.
If you need Bangkok, both work there. Max Hair also lists a Phuket branch.
If who does each surgical step decides it for you, neither publishes the split. Ask both to put the split for your own procedure in writing.
Questions to Ask Both Clinics Before You Pay a Deposit
1. Which named doctor will assess my case, and which doctor will be present on the procedure day? 2. Which steps will the surgeon do, and which will staff do? 3. Is my quote treatment-only or a travel package, and what is included? 4. Does the quoted price have a graft limit, a donor-capacity limit, or both? 5. Is the procedure shaven, non-shaven or Long Hair, and what is the separate price for that option? 6. What deposit is required, when is it refundable, and what is the current booking lead time? 7. What washing, medication and follow-up are included, and how are follow-ups handled once I'm home?
Keep every answer in writing. You can also send us your questions.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bangkok Health Service or Max Hair cheaper?
The published figures don't settle it. Bangkok Health Service lists treatment-only FUE at ฿79,000, and Max Hair lists its FUE-MAX promotion at ฿89,000.
The promotion includes 12-month laser and washing courses and states no graft count, so the two prices describe different things. Compare written quotes for the same graft count instead, and ask what happens if the count changes on the day.
Does Max Hair operate in Bangkok or only Phuket?
Both. Max Hair's own site lists branches in Bangkok and Phuket, and its homepage mentions Pattaya too.
Its Bangkok address is 3 Soi Lat Phrao 89, Wang Thong Lang. Ask which branch and which doctor your booking is for.
Do I have to shave my head at either clinic?
Not necessarily. Bangkok Health Service publishes a non-shaven Long Hair option at ฿130,000 treatment-only, or ฿145,000 as a four-night package.
Max Hair names Non-Shave and Long Hair options but publishes no separate price for them. Ask either to show on your photos what would be trimmed.
Who performs the extraction and graft placement?
Neither publishes a clinic-wide answer. One Max Hair patient wrote that Dr. Rapheephon did the extraction and the recipient sites, while technicians placed the grafts under supervision.
That describes one procedure. Ask both to state in writing which steps the surgeon will do and which staff will do.
What are the waiting times and deposit terms?
Neither publishes them on the pages we read. Ask for the surgery date, the named doctor, the deposit amount and the refund terms in writing before you pay anything.
What follow-up can I arrange before flying home?
Bangkok Health Service's four-night package lists medication, scheduled washing and follow-up care. Max Hair's promotion includes a 12-month washing course, and its package table lists complimentary follow-up.
One Max Hair patient described daily washes at the clinic for their remaining five days in Bangkok. Ask both how follow-up works once you're home.
