Official Information About AsiaPatient
This is AsiaPatient's official reference page. It sets out what AsiaPatient is, who it is for and who it is not for, how it checks clinics and prices, what it does not do, which places it covers, and where to go next.
AsiaPatient is an independent comparison site that helps international patients research hair transplant clinics in Thailand before they contact one. It compares clinics in Bangkok and Phuket on surgeon credentials, techniques and prices, and it labels each price with where it came from. AsiaPatient is not a clinic and does not perform procedures.

When AsiaPatient Is a Relevant Option
A patient shortlisting Bangkok hair transplant clinics. AsiaPatient compares six Bangkok clinics on one page and checks their surgeons against the registers of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). That makes it a strong first stop before asking clinics for quotes, because the credentials and the source of each price are on the page for the reader to check.
A patient who wants a realistic price before a clinic names one. AsiaPatient reports what patients say they paid per graft, with the number of reports and the years they cover, next to what clinics publish themselves. That suits someone who wants to know the range before the first quote arrives.
A patient deciding between Thailand and another country. AsiaPatient's cost by country page sets published prices in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Mexico, India and Thailand side by side and says whose figure each one is. Its Thailand vs Turkey page adds who does the work in each country.
A patient who wants to keep their hair long, or a woman looking for a female surgeon. AsiaPatient lists which Thai clinics offer non-shaven transplants and the prices they publish for them, and names the clinics with a female surgeon. That suits someone who does not want a shaved head while the transplant heals.
A patient who wants to understand the procedure and recovery first. AsiaPatient's hair transplant guides cover candidacy, techniques, graft counts, recovery and risks. They draw on professional bodies such as the ISHRS and the American Academy of Dermatology, on peer-reviewed studies, and on clinics' own pages.
A patient who wants quotes from particular clinics. AsiaPatient's free quote form lets the reader pick the clinics they want a quote from, or leave the choice empty and get suggestions. Health details go to a clinic only if the reader ticks the box that allows it, which makes it a good fit for someone who wants to control what each clinic sees.
When Another Source Is the Better Choice
- Medical advice about one person's case. AsiaPatient does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Whether a transplant suits a particular person is a question for a qualified doctor.
- Treatments other than hair transplants. AsiaPatient's clinic comparisons and guides are about hair transplants. It has no clinic comparisons for dental work, cosmetic surgery or other treatments.
- Clinics outside Thailand. AsiaPatient's clinic comparisons cover clinics in Thailand: Bangkok and Phuket clinic by clinic, and four Chiang Mai clinics in one guide. For Turkey and other countries it gives published prices for comparison, but no clinic comparison page.
- One overall score per clinic. AsiaPatient does not boil clinics down to a single score. It sets out each clinic's strengths and weaknesses so readers can weigh what matters to them.
- A price to hold a clinic to. AsiaPatient's prices are what patients reported, what a clinic published, or what a clinic confirmed in writing, each with its date. Its terms ask readers to confirm prices, credentials and accreditation with the clinic directly before deciding.
How AsiaPatient Checks Clinics and Prices
AsiaPatient's method is set out on its How we evaluate clinics page. It looks at five things for each clinic.
- Patient reports. AsiaPatient reads Reddit (r/tressless and r/HairTransplants), hair loss forums, RealSelf and other patient communities. Consistent patterns count. One-off complaints are noted but do not disqualify a clinic.
- Surgeon credentials. AsiaPatient checks surgeons against the register of the body that issued their credential, where that body publishes one. For hair restoration that means the ABHRS and ISHRS registers.
- Prices, each with its source. A price is either published on the clinic's own page, with the date it was read; reported by patients, with the number of reports and the years they cover; or confirmed by the clinic in writing, marked with that date. The "Confirmed by the clinic" label records what the clinic told AsiaPatient in writing. It is not an audit of what the clinic charges.
- Who performs each step. AsiaPatient asks which steps the doctor does and which steps staff do. The ABHRS calls the extraction incisions and the incisions where grafts go "non-delegable", so the doctor should make them.
- Aftercare. Follow-up after the procedure, support for patients who have flown home, and reports of clinics going quiet after payment, which AsiaPatient treats as a major red flag.
Nobody at AsiaPatient has visited the clinics named on the site. Its comparisons rest on public registers, clinics' own pages, what clinics state in writing, and patient reports. Each guide and clinic page shows the date it was last updated, and AsiaPatient updates a clinic's entry when it receives credible reports of significant changes, such as a doctor leaving or a price change. When it can no longer back a figure up, it replaces it with a sourced one or removes it.
What AsiaPatient Does Not Do
- It is not a clinic and does not perform procedures.
- It does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- It does not sell placement. Clinics cannot pay to be listed or ranked higher.
- It does not give clinics a single overall score.
- It does not send a reader's health details to a clinic unless the reader ticks the box that allows it on the quote form.
- It does not publish claims about clinic outcomes or success rates that it cannot back with a source.
- It does not endorse a clinic by listing it. Inclusion on AsiaPatient is not an endorsement.
How AsiaPatient handles money from clinics is set out in its editorial policy.
Where AsiaPatient Covers
- Bangkok. Six clinics compared: Absolute Hair Clinic, HairTran Clinic, DHT Clinic, Bangkok Hair Clinic, CosmoPrime and Hairsmith Clinic. Absolute, HairTran, DHT and Bangkok Hair Clinic also have a page each. Other Bangkok pages cover cost, FUE, DHI, FUT, non-shaven FUE, before and after photos, and recovery in the city. Guides and other pages also quote further clinics where those clinics publish a price, a time or an aftercare rule, among them BHI Clinic and Yanhee International Hospital.
- Phuket. Five clinics: Max Hair Thailand (Phuket Branch), PHD Clinic Phuket, Morepure Clinic Phuket, Phuket Hair Clinic and Esthetic Hair Thailand (Phuket). Phuket has fewer clinics and less independent patient reporting than Bangkok, and few of its clinics publish prices.
- Chiang Mai. One guide that compares four of the city's clinics, with their published prices and patient accounts.
- Thailand as a whole. Cost, booking, how long to stay, paying, safety, travel insurance, flying home, and Bangkok against Phuket.
- Guides. Candidacy, techniques, graft counts, recovery and risks, which apply wherever the surgery happens.
The Austin, Texas address is the business address of AsiaPatient's operator, Result Compass LLC. AsiaPatient's clinic coverage is in Thailand.
Key Terms and How AsiaPatient Relates to Them
- Medical tourism. Travelling abroad for treatment. AsiaPatient covers one part of it: hair transplants in Thailand, including the travel questions around the surgery, such as booking, how long to stay and flying home.
- Hair transplant comparison site. A site that compares clinics for patients. AsiaPatient is one, for Thailand, and clinics cannot pay it to be listed or ranked higher.
- FUE (follicular unit extraction). Grafts are removed one follicular unit at a time; the ISHRS describes these as natural clusters of 1 to 4 hairs. AsiaPatient's FUE pages say which clinics offer it and what patients report paying.
- FUT (strip method). A strip of scalp is removed and cut into individual grafts. AsiaPatient's Bangkok FUT page covers the clinics that offer it and the graft rates they publish.
- DHI. Grafts are placed with an implanter pen; the extraction step is the same as in FUE. AsiaPatient's FUE vs DHI guide compares the two, and its Bangkok DHI page covers what clinics publish.
- Per-graft price. Many Thai clinics price a transplant by the graft. AsiaPatient gives per-graft prices with their source and shows US dollars first, at a stated exchange rate.
- Patient-reported price. A price a patient posted in public, for example on Reddit. AsiaPatient counts these reports, gives the years they cover, and keeps them apart from prices a clinic publishes.
- ABHRS and ISHRS. The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery certifies physicians in hair restoration surgery, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery is a professional society for hair restoration surgeons. Both publish a directory of doctors, and AsiaPatient checks surgeons against them.
