Absolute Hair Clinic Bangkok: Doctors, Prices, Deposit and Patient Reports (2026)

One patient posted on r/HairTransplants in February 2026, five months after 4,100 grafts: "I don't agree with all of Absolute's practices and by Western standards they are downright disorganised. But the procedure, after care, and healing process was very smooth" (r/HairTransplants, February 2026).

Absolute Hair Clinic is one of the clinics in our Bangkok hair transplant guide: a single branch in Bangkok, Thailand, with two doctors named on its site, Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong and Dr. Ratchathorn Panchaprateep.

The ABHRS lists both as Diplomates and the ISHRS lists both as Fellow members. The clinic's English pages show no per-graft price, its payment page shows a ฿35,000 deposit that its policy calls non-refundable, and patients report waits from a few months to more than a year.

This page sets the clinic's own wording beside the registers and dated patient posts. AsiaPatient has no commercial relationship with the clinic, and nobody here has been a patient there or visited it.

Who Runs It: Dr. Laorwong and Dr. Ratchathorn

The clinic's contact page says "There are 2 doctors, please specify your preference, each doctor will respond to you directly." Patient threads are usually titled with a doctor's name, so this page does the same.

What the Clinic Says About Each Doctor

Dr. Laorwong's profile page says "Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong is a Diplomate American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery which has certified since 2010 and now a Fellow ISHRS in 2014."

It also lists a "Diplomate Thai Board of Family Medicine, 2006", a hair restoration fellowship in 2006-2007 at DHT Clinic under Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich, and "Thailand License since 1999 (License No. 23810)".

Dr. Ratchathorn's profile page lists an associate professor post in dermatology at Chulalongkorn University and a PhD in dermatology, and says "She is a board-certified dermatologist" without naming the board. It dates ABHRS status to 2013, ISHRS Fellow membership to 2016 and a "Platinum Follicle Award" from the ISHRS to 2019, after a fellowship at DHT Clinic.

The home page prints "Dr.Bonus" under Dr. Ratchathorn's entry, and an April 2024 commenter used the same nickname.

Two clinic pages give different experience figures. The home page says "More than 14 years experience", and the contact page says "exclusively dedicated to hair transplantation for the past 17 years."

Patient posts spell the names many ways (Loarwong, Ratchatorn), so use the registers' spellings when you search.

What the ABHRS and ISHRS Registers List

The ABHRS physician directory lists Kongkiat Laorwong, MD and Ratchathorn Panchaprateep, MD as Diplomates. The ISHRS Find a Doctor profiles for Dr. Laorwong and Dr. Ratchathorn show "ISHRS Fellow Member" and "ABHRS Diplomate".

The ABHRS code of ethics statement has diplomates commit to designating their membership as "ABHRS Diplomate" as opposed to "Board Certified" by the ABHRS. Where the clinic's pages say "certified", the register word is Diplomate, and both listings record membership status, not any doctor's results.

The registers differ on addresses. The ABHRS lists both doctors under Absolute Hair Clinic, Dr. Ratchathorn at a Krungthonburi Road address and Dr. Laorwong at a Rama VI Road address, while the ISHRS lists Dr. Laorwong at Absolute and Dr. Ratchathorn at the Chulalongkorn dermatology division.

Neither register lists the Platinum Follicle Award, and the licence number is the clinic's own statement, not one we have confirmed.

Ask each doctor's licence number, confirm it with the Thai Medical Council, and look up both register listings yourself before you pay a deposit.

Who Does Which Step of the FUE

Patients asked who does what in threads in December 2023, January 2024 and October 2024. The clinic's own FUE page answers in two different ways.

What the Clinic's FUE Page Says

Sentence on the FUE pageWhere it sits
A"Doctor makes all the incisions on donor area and graft extracted by himself/herself and his/her assistant."Paragraph under the Trivelleni system text
B"The doctor administers local anesthesia (nerve block), makes excisions, and the grafts are extracted by a technician."Section "Doctor's Role", donor area
C"Most of grafts are inserted with implanters in the incisions by experienced assistants."Section "Doctor's Role", recipient area

Sentences A and B differ on who takes the grafts out: the doctor and an assistant in A, a technician in B. Both have the doctor cutting, with "incisions" in A and "excisions" in B.

The page doesn't say which sentence describes current practice, and we don't pick one. The same section says the doctor "draws the hairline" and "does some grafts placement at the end".

What Patients Wrote About It

Each account is one person's impression of the doctor's involvement, often while sedated, and they disagree with each other.

A January 2024 post says it pastes a reply received from Dr. Laorwong, which we can't verify. It reads "my assistant pull out the grafts, I also pull out the grafts too" for the donor area and "I place the grafts around 10-50% the rest are done by assistants."

Ask the clinic in writing whether the doctor does all steps or only some, which ones, and keep the answer.

Techniques the Clinic Offers

The clinic's home page menu includes FUE hair transplant, FUT hair transplant, eyebrow transplantation, mustache and beard transplant, hair transplant in scar, PRP, low-level laser light therapy, live cell therapy (Rigenera Activa) and a Fotona laser for hair loss. Our guides cover the FUE procedure and FUT across Bangkok.

The clinic's FUE hair transplant page names the Trivelleni system, 0.8 to 1.00 mm punches and implanters for graft placement, and says "max. 4000 grafts per day". Patient posts describe 4,304 grafts in October 2024 and 4,666 in January 2024, and the page doesn't explain the difference.

In November 2023 one patient wrote "Dr. Laorwong gave me the option to not shave the receipient area for a slightly higher price." (r/HairTransplants). Our non-shaven FUE page covers the option across Bangkok.

The English pages don't describe DHI. Ask the clinic in writing whether it offers it, and see our DHI page for the technique in Bangkok.

What Absolute Hair Clinic Costs

Prices the Clinic Publishes

The English pages show no per-graft price. The Thai-language FUE page says, in our translation, that the starting price is around 30,000 baht ($905, our conversion at ฿33.14 = $1) and depends on the number of grafts. That page was last modified on 25 September 2023.

The payment page lists "Deposit for hair transplant" at "฿35,000.00" ($1,056, our conversion), read 10 October 2026. The contact page says the balance can be paid by Visa or Mastercard "with 2.5% of charge", in Thai baht cash or with the Wise app, and the pre-operative page says "No financing available".

The English PRP page publishes a price: 20,000 baht ("$625 USD" on the clinic's PRP page) per injection, or 50,000 baht for three monthly injections. That page was last modified in August 2021.

What Patients Report Paying Per Graft

Every figure here comes from patient posts and is dated by the post. They show what individuals say they paid or were quoted, not a price list.

Procedure or quotePer graftWhat the poster wrote
Feb 2023 procedure (posted Aug 2026)฿654,126 grafts, total ฿268,190
Jan 2024 procedure฿70"it's clear the price is now 80 baht, they honoured 70 as per my original quote"
Jun 2024 procedure฿90, non-shaven"I just had it done today at 90 baht/graft non shave. I had 1667 grafts done."
Oct 2024 procedure฿804,304 grafts, with a PRP session and 5 days of aftercare
Nov 2024 quote฿100"Absolute: 100 / graft with Dr. Ratchathron"; a commenter wrote the clinic "recently raised their price to 100 baht"
Feb 2025 procedure฿80, shaved"I was actually quoted 90 baht per graft over LINE"
Oct 2025 quote฿85"Dr. R quoted 85THB per graft for over 3,500."
Jul 2026 quote$3, partial shave"a quote from Laorwong for 1400 grafts at $3 per graft"
Sep 2026 quoteabout ฿90"~90 THB/graft (80 THB if over 4,000)"

The figures run from ฿60 to ฿100 a graft, or $1.81 to $3.02 (our conversion). Posts about 2023 procedures give the lowest figures, ฿60 to ฿80, and most posts about 2024 to 2026 procedures and quotes give ฿80 to ฿100. There are exceptions at both ends.

Patients describe the rate moving with the size of the case. A commenter wrote in March 2025 "The 80 is charged shaved if over 3500 grafts. This i the same for both docs.", and the patient replied that the clinic hadn't said so.

The February 2025 patient paid "296000 Thai baht for the surgery + 15000 baht for 5 days Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) during the aftercare treatment" for 3,709 grafts. That is about ฿80 a graft for the surgery (our arithmetic: ฿296,000 divided by 3,709 comes to 79.8). In our conversion at ฿33.14 to the dollar, the surgery is about $8,930 and the ฿15,000 of oxygen therapy about $450 (rounded to the nearest $10).

When the Graft Count Changes, and Add-Ons

The count can move on the day. A patient wrote in October 2025 "My final graft count was 4047 grafts, nearly double the 2500 estimated from photos."

The same patient described an extra charge after surgery: "You paid for 4000 grafts, we were able to do 4047 today. I really don't agree with this practice because I was out of it, and there was no way to consent at the time."

A March 2026 commenter writing about Dr. Ratchathorn said "They also asked my permission to go over 4000 if needed before hand, so I was fine with that."

Patients also describe paid extras. In September 2023 a patient was offered stem cell therapy alongside the procedure: "The price was 75,000 THB but since we are doing this at the same time as the FUE, the price was 50% off for 37,500."

The February 2025 patient paid 15,000 baht for five days of HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy), and an October 2025 patient wrote "So many upsells at this clinic."

Get a written quote against your own graft count, and ask what happens to the price if the count changes on the day.

Prices at the other Bangkok clinics are in our Bangkok cost guide.

Booking, Deposit and Rescheduling

You contact the clinic by email, WhatsApp or LINE, and the doctor you name replies. The online consultation page asks you to "send clear pictures and videos of both your thinning or balding areas and your donor area." Send every clinic you contact the same photos of your hair loss and donor area.

An October 2024 patient wrote "I reached out to Laorwong using WhatsApp and sent him the same photos. He said I had diffused thinning and would need around 6000 grafts spread over 2 surgeries."

Reply speed draws complaints. In January 2024 a commenter said the doctor "never replies back. It's more than a week." and the answer was "Chase him on WhatsApp, he'll eventually reply."

A March 2026 patient wrote "besides poor communication from the reception staff for scheduling the clinic was top notch."

The payment page shows a deposit of ฿35,000. Patients who paid in 2023 and 2024 wrote ฿20,000 through the Wise app, and a July 2026 prospective patient wrote that the clinic "requires a fixed 35,000 THB deposit regardless of the total procedure cost".

In September 2023 a patient wrote "The 20,000 THB will be deducted from the balance payment." Ask whether the ฿35,000 counts toward the balance.

The clinic's refund, cancellation and rescheduling policy was published in January 2025 and modified in July 2026. It says:

The policy doesn't say what happens at day 14 itself. The contact page adds "Important Notice: No Hair Transplant Results guarantee. No money refund".

Location, Hours and a Reported Move

The contact page gives one branch at 134/2 Krungthonburi Road, near Soi 8 and BTS Krung Thonburi Exit 4, open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.

On 2 September 2026 a poster wrote "For anyone going there next year, you might want to wait to see where they're relocating to before booking your hotel." (r/HairTransplants). The clinic's pages still show the Krungthonburi Road address and say nothing about a move.

Get the clinic's current address in writing before you book flights or a hotel.

How Long Patients Wait

The clinic publishes no waiting time. Its online form only asks "When are you looking to undergo the procedure?" These are patient statements, each with the date it was written.

PostedDoctorWhat the poster wrote
Aug 2023Dr. Laorwong"There was some availability in June and July with significant availability in August-October." (contact in mid May, surgery 4 Aug)
May 2024Both"Both these doctors are fully booked until Oct."
Jun 2024Dr. LaorwongPost title: "Booked out for the next 10 months!"
Jun 2024Dr. Ratchathorn"I came to the sub because Dr Ratchathorn has availability before Dr Laorwong"
Oct 2024Dr. Laorwong"The wait time at the time of my booking was 7 months although I hear it's much longer now."
Oct 2025Dr. Ratchathorn"I wanted Dr Panchaprateep, but she was booked solid for the next 6 Months."
Jun 2026Both"Seems like Dr. Laorwong has availability every month through the rest of the year while Ratchathorn at the same clinic is booked until 2027."
Aug 2026Dr. Ratchathorn"the earliest full day appointment available is in Sep 2027"
Sep 2026Dr. Ratchathorn"Dr. R is booked until 2028 but have some slots available in aug-sep 2027."
Oct 2026Dr. Laorwong"Dr Laorwong: ~6-7-months wait, ~9000USD" (relayed quote for about 3,500 grafts)

The statements disagree, and the wait varies by month. In August 2026 one poster was told Dr. Ratchathorn's earliest full day was September 2027, and in September 2026 another relayed "booked until 2028". Each is one person's account of a reply from the clinic.

The order between the doctors has also flipped. In 2024 posts Dr. Ratchathorn had the earlier dates, and in the 2026 posts Dr. Laorwong does.

Ask for the next open date with the doctor you want, in writing, on the day you ask.

What Is Included

The clinic's aftercare guide says "We provide intensive post op care for 5 days, includes wound care, hair wash and Low-Level Light Laser Therapy (LLLT)." It doesn't say whether the five days are in the graft price.

Patients say they are. An October 2025 patient wrote "Surgery included 5 days of aftercare and there is an option to buy extra after-care at THB1500 a day." An October 2024 patient was told the price "would include a complementary session of PRP and 5 days of aftercare."

The guide also says "HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) is available now at Absolute Hair Clinic for intensive post op care." A February 2025 patient's bill covered 5 days of it at ฿15,000. The weeks after the procedure are in our Bangkok recovery guide.

What Patients Report: The Good and the Bad

Most reports come from the r/HairTransplants forum, plus the Medihair page for Dr. Laorwong, which shows a score of 6.0 from 5 reviews dated December 2023 to February 2025. This page doesn't cover Google or RealSelf ratings, and we viewed no patient photos.

Positive Reports

Mixed and Negative Reports

Days are long. Patients wrote of "about 11 hours of surgery time after accounting for the lunch break" (August 2023) and "over 10 hours, even with breaks and meals in between." (May 2025).

In September 2026 a thread asked about Dr. Ratchathorn's single-surgery days becoming double-surgery days. One poster wrote "I got 3990 and left the clinic at 1 AM."

The original poster's concern was "whether it affects the amount of time the surgeon is personally involved in each case". Another commenter wrote "I was also the only surgery of the day."

What the Reports Cannot Tell You

Posters choose to post, each is one person, and some were sedated for part of the procedure. Many threads end days or months after surgery, before a final result, and the Medihair complaints come from two anonymous reviews.

A documented growth timeline is on our Bangkok before and after page.

Dr. Laorwong or Dr. Ratchathorn: What Patients Say

Hairline taste: in March 2025 a patient wrote "I specifically chose Dr. Ratchathorn over Laorwong because I preferred her hairline designs".

Thinning cases: a May 2024 patient with diffuse hair loss wrote of Dr. Panchaprateep "she's really good and id highly recommend her". An October 2024 commenter wrote, second-hand, "I heard that Ratchathorn is getting more popular for her handling of diffused thinning cases."

Price: Dr. Ratchathorn was quoted ฿100 a graft in November 2024 and ฿85 in October 2025, and a September 2026 post described the two doctors as having the "same pricing structure".

Dates: the same October 2024 commenter wrote "Her waittime is also less than Laorwong". By June 2026 the order had reversed, and one prospective patient wrote that Dr. Laorwong "is available much earlier to the point where I can go in 3 months or so".

How Absolute Compares With HairTran

Some patients weigh Absolute against HairTran in the same decision. A March 2025 patient wrote that the HairTran doctor is "about half the price of what I paid".

Our Absolute vs HairTran comparison sets the surgeons, published prices, waits and terms side by side. The other Bangkok clinics are in our Bangkok clinic comparison.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay a Deposit

Frequently Asked Questions

Who does the extraction at Absolute Hair Clinic, the doctor or a technician?

The clinic's own FUE page says both: one sentence has the grafts "extracted by himself/herself and his/her assistant", and another says "the grafts are extracted by a technician." Patient accounts differ too, so ask the clinic in writing which steps the doctor does.

What is the deposit at Absolute Hair Clinic, and can I get it back?

The payment page shows ฿35,000, while patients who paid in 2023 and 2024 wrote ฿20,000. The policy says "All deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances once payment is made."

How much does a hair transplant cost at Absolute Hair Clinic Bangkok?

The English pages publish no per-graft price, and the Thai FUE page gives a starting figure of about ฿30,000 (our translation). Patients report ฿60 to ฿100 a graft for 2023 to 2026 procedures and quotes, and totals move with graft count and add-ons.

How long is the wait for Dr. Laorwong or Dr. Ratchathorn?

The clinic publishes no wait. In 2026 posts patients reported Dr. Laorwong at "~6-7-months" in October and Dr. Ratchathorn booked into 2027, in one September post "until 2028". Ask for the next open date with your doctor in writing.

What is the difference between Dr. Laorwong and Dr. Ratchathorn?

The registers list both the same way, as ABHRS Diplomates and ISHRS Fellow members. Patients describe differences in taste and timing: one chose Dr. Ratchathorn in 2025 because "I preferred her hairline designs", and availability has shifted between the two since 2024.

What qualifications do Dr. Laorwong and Dr. Ratchathorn hold?

The ABHRS directory lists both as Diplomates, and the ISHRS lists both as Fellow members. The clinic's pages add a fellowship at DHT Clinic for each, and the licence number the clinic prints is its own statement.

Does Absolute Hair Clinic guarantee results or give refunds?

Its contact page says "Important Notice: No Hair Transplant Results guarantee. No money refund", and the policy page calls deposits non-refundable under any circumstances.
