Bangkok Hair Clinic Reviews: Surgeons, Prices and What Patients Report (2026)

Bangkok Hair Clinic (BHC) is a hair transplant clinic in the Racquet Club complex on Sukhumvit 49/9 in Bangkok, Thailand. Its lead surgeon, Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon, is listed by the ABHRS as a Verified Diplomate and by the ISHRS as a Full Member.

It's one of the clinics in our Bangkok hair transplant guide. This page sets out what the clinic publishes, what the registers show and what patients report, with dates.

The clinic publishes price wording, not prices. Most patient quotes and payments posted between June 2024 and April 2026 run about 65 to 86 THB per graft. The patient record is thin and split: one detailed positive report from July 2026, one detailed negative account from April 2026 with an August update, and a handful of shorter posts.

Clinic and register rows come from the clinic's own pages, the ABHRS and ISHRS listings and the Ministry of Public Health search, read 13 October 2026. The price and deposit rows are one patient's account each. AsiaPatient has no commercial relationship with Bangkok Hair Clinic, and nobody at AsiaPatient has visited it or had a procedure there. See how we evaluate clinics.

Who the Surgeons Are

The clinic names three doctors and lists their credentials on its own pages. We found an ABHRS or ISHRS listing for one of them.

What the Clinic Says About Each Doctor

Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon. The about page says "Our clinic is led by Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon, an ABHRS Diplomate and a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and the Asian Association of Hair Restoration (AAHRS)." His doctor page lists "License 63566", an MBChB from the University of Birmingham (2017), UK General Medical Council registration "No. 7558307" and "Diplomate, American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), 2025". It lists advanced hair restoration training in 2020 and says he has treated hair loss "since 2019".

Dr. Jate Jatechayanon. His doctor page lists "License 46225", a "Doctor of Medicine (MD), University of Nottingham & SWU (2017)" and an MSc in Clinical Dermatology from King's College London (2017). It lists memberships of the World FUE Institute, AAHRS and DST, and doesn't list the ABHRS or the ISHRS.

Dr. Bunphon Kijkunasatien. The doctor page lists "License 70301" and a 2022 degree from the University of Nottingham Medical School and Srinakharinwirot University. The board it lists is the "American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM), USA, 2025", an anti-aging board, not a hair restoration one.

A July 2026 patient wrote "Dr Jate and Dr Jairyu are brothers and owners of BHC." The clinic's pages don't say that.

What the ABHRS and ISHRS Listings Show

The ABHRS physician directory lists Dr. Jirayu as a "Verified Diplomate" with "Certification Year 2025". An ABHRS news post from 6 November 2024 names him among doctors who "recently passed the written and oral examinations conducted by the ABHRS."

The ISHRS Find a Doctor listing shows "ISHRS Full Member" and "Year Joined ISHRS 2020". The clinic's own pages say something else. His doctor page lists ISHRS membership from 2025, and the about page calls him an "Associate member". The ISHRS treats associate members as a separate class from full members. So the clinic's pages and the society's listing disagree on both the grade and the year.

We found no ABHRS or ISHRS listing for Dr. Jate or Dr. Bunphon, and the clinic doesn't claim one for either. Some clinic pages describe the team in the plural as board-certified; the ABHRS directory lists Dr. Jirayu.

Credentials like these are about training and exams. They say nothing about any one patient's results.

How to Check It Yourself

The Ministry of Public Health private-clinic search has a record under the Thai name for "BHC Clinic", at room RQ.6 402 in Building 6 of The Racquet Club, the room on the clinic's contact page. It shows facility license 10101036563, valid to 31 December 2572 in the Thai calendar, which is 31 December 2029 by our conversion.

The doctors' license numbers and the GMC number are what the clinic publishes. You can search the Thai Medical Council register by name and look up the GMC record for the number the clinic gives.

Ask for your surgeon's license number and check it on the register before you pay a deposit.

Who Does Which Step

No clinic page says who extracts, who makes the incisions and who places the grafts.

In the Clinic's Own Words

A caption on the DHI page reads "Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon and Dr. Jate Jatechayanon performing FUE procedure using Implanters (DHI)". The shaven FUE page shows Dr. Jirayu "creating a patient's hairline" and says "Our highly skilled team works with speed and precision, reducing overall procedure time." The DHI shaven page says DHI needs "a larger surgical team".

In Patients' Words

Each row is one poster's account of their own surgery.

Post dateThreadWhat the poster wrote
Jul 2026r/HairTransplants"Implantation involved Dr Jate making incisions into my receiving areas and the implantation of all hairs done by both Jr Jate and his nurses." Also "I'd say there were about 10 people in the room all up." No word on who extracted.
Apr 2026r/HairTransplants"There was no mention before booking the surgery that it'd be done by many other implanters at the same time. I didn't really know who was performing the surgery throughout."
Aug 2026same thread, same poster"I had one person working on left temple, another on right."
Sep 2026r/Hairtransplant"There were two male surgeons and a female surgeon, and it was one of the male surgeons." The poster didn't remember which.

Ask in writing which doctor will do your case, and who does the extraction, the incisions and the implanting.

Techniques Offered

The about page lists shaven FUE, non-shaven FUE, DHI with an implanter, partial-shave DHI, long hair DHI, a DHI micrograft option and eyebrow transplant.

Shaven FUE. The clinic says "The procedure typically takes 6-8 hours", with "a 15-30 minute break for lunch", and incisions "as small as 0.6-0.8mm". Our FUE page covers the method.

DHI. The clinic says "we exclusively perform this technique using Lion Implanters from South Korea". Its DHI page says "Typically completed in under 6 hours", while its partial-shave DHI page says 6 to 8 hours. The DHI shaven page says "A standard case generally requires between 2,000 and 3,500 grafts". Our DHI page compares Bangkok clinics that offer it.

Non-shaven and long hair. For non-shaven FUE, the clinic says doctors extract "typically 1,500-2,000" grafts in one session, and lists a longer procedure and harder wound care as drawbacks. Long hair DHI is "typically limited to a maximum of 1,500 grafts" and "best suited to smaller cases".

The clinic's own comparison table gives these limits:

DHI ShavenDHI Partial-ShaveLong Hair DHI
ShavingFull shave of donor areaPartial shaveNone
Maximum graftsMore than 3,0001,500 to 2,000Under 1,500
Cost (the clinic's words)ModerateModerateHigher

Patients give different ceilings. A May 2025 patient believed the clinic "only goes up to 2500-3000 hair grafts per procedure, 3000 being on the extreme side." A June 2024 patient reports 3,700 grafts in one day, from about 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. Before surgery, the June 2024 patient was told that with 3,500 grafts "the crown area would possibly will lack density". Ask for the maximum for your case in writing.

FUT. The menu doesn't list FUT, and the FAQ says "we specialize in FUE and its refined variations". A 2023 blog post still lists "FUT/Strip Harvest", so ask.

Add-ons. The clinic says "GFC or Growth Factor Concentrate is also used to describe Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy". It also sells Rigenera, or Cell Plus, a separate treatment it says "uses cellular therapy to combat hair loss."

The FAQ says the clinic aims for "a transplant density of 40 to 50 grafts per square centimeter"; the DHI page says 30 to 50. The FAQ says "New growth usually begins between weeks 10-16, with full results visible within 12 months", and the DHI page says growth is noticeable "within about 6-9 months". The FAQ also says "All hair restoration procedures result in some form of scarring".

Bangkok Hair Clinic Price: What the Clinic Publishes and What Patients Pay

What the Clinic Publishes

There's no per-graft rate and no package price on the clinic's site, only wording.

The home page says "the cost per graft can range from 40 to 200 THB" in Bangkok, "depending on the clinic and case". That's a citywide range, not the clinic's own rate. The about page says "Costs are quoted upfront, with nothing added later."

Patient-Reported Prices by Date

Every row is one person's post: some are quotes, some are what the poster paid.

Post dateWhat was reportedQuote or paidTHB per graft
Jun 2024"3700 grafts DHI FUE 66 baht per graft = 244200 baht" (r/HairTransplants)Paid66
Jun 2024A clinic message a prospective patient relayed: standard FUE 55 THB per graft, FUE with the DHI implanter 65 THB (r/HairTransplants)Quote55 or 65
Oct 2024"around 200k baht, operation with DHI technique", for 3,000 to 3,500 grafts (r/HairTransplants)Quoteabout 57 to 67
Nov 2024"BHC: 65 / graft with Dr. Jate", currency not stated (r/HairTransplants)Quote65
Mar 20253,200 grafts, "About 4.9k usd" (r/HairTransplants)Paidnot stated
May 20252,500 grafts, "roughly around 205,000 Thai baht" (r/Hairtransplant)Paidabout 82
Aug 2025"3000 grafts FUE x 75 THB = 225,000"; the poster chose another clinic (r/HairTransplants)Quote75
Apr 2026"129,000 THB for up to 1,500 grafts, with additional grafts charged at 75 THB per graft" (r/HairTransplants)Quote, then paidabout 81 at 2,725 grafts
Apr 2026"They quoted me 200,000THB for 3000 grafts." Quote date not given (same thread)Quoteabout 67

The last column is our arithmetic from the posted totals, except where the poster gave a rate.

The 2026 patient had 2,725 grafts. By our arithmetic that's 129,000 THB plus 1,225 grafts at 75 THB, or 220,875 THB, about THB 81 per graft ($2.45 by our conversion). PRP at 7,500 THB was extra, and so was a 1,000 THB blood test unless you bring your own result. The patient later wrote "I paid approx $6650USD including PRP therapy" and "it's definitely not the cheapest but far better value than having the surgery done at home."

The two 2026 quotes don't match. A flat 200,000 THB for 3,000 grafts is below the 241,500 THB the first-1,500 structure gives at that count (our arithmetic). Ask which pricing applies to you. Our Bangkok cost guide puts these figures next to other clinics.

What Directories Show

MyMediTravel shows "$ 4,067 - $ 4,560" for a BHC hair transplant, Medihair shows "$3,000 - $5,000" on a page updated in October 2023, and a US practice's blog says "prices starting at $2,500". None gives a graft count or a source, so they're not a guide to what you'd pay.

Booking, Consultation and Deposit

The clinic's FAQ says it "offers free consultations for scalp examinations, analysis, and diagnosis". You can "send photos for a preliminary graft count and price estimate via LINE: @bangkokhairclinic".

The July 2026 patient booked "the free video appointment with BHC via Messenger", filled in a medical-history form and sent photos. In early April 2026 they spoke with Dr. Jirayu "on a google call for about 30 minutes", who estimated 2,800 to 3,300 grafts. A written summary followed with the schedule, care guides and fees. Then "I paid a 10,000THB deposit using a GBPrimePay link to secure my date." Surgery was in mid July with Dr. Jate. A June 2024 patient had "a video consultation with one of the assistants, and then with one of the doctors."

We found no deposit, refund, cancellation or rescheduling terms on the clinic's site. Get them in writing before you pay.

The clinic publishes no waiting time, and posts vary. The July 2026 patient had surgery about three months after the consultation. An August 2025 poster wrote "AHC and BHC have availability" when other clinics were booked out. In August 2026 one poster "paid my deposit for a session in January", and a commenter wrote "Bangkok Hair Clinic have a spot available next month."

A July 2026 post offered "10% off" through a patient referral. The clinic publishes no referral scheme, so read posts like that as promotion, not reviews.

What Is Included

The clinic publishes no list. The clearest one is what the 2026 patient relayed from their written quote: "Doctor's fee, nursing fee, antibiotics, 6-month supply of minoxidil tablets, pain relief, 1-month supply of hair vitamins, calming shampoo, Defense Soft Gel, hat, headband, post-op wound care and hair wash service (up to 3 days), and pre- and post-operative care booklets."

The same patient "was also advised to have Cell Plus Therapy (Régénéra Activa) and Platelet Rich Plasma (GFC Injection) for extra cost". They were quoted 60,000 THB for Cell Plus and 7,500 THB for PRP, and took only the PRP. Lunch on the day was provided. Oral minoxidil is a prescription medicine, so talk it through with your own doctor.

The shaven FUE page offers "a free revision if necessary", without saying when a revision counts as necessary, for how long, or how many grafts it covers. The long hair page promises "initial wound care, hair washing, and post-transplant care for a minimum of 3 days."

No clinic page lists a hotel or transfer. A June 2024 patient wrote "you have to arrange your own accommodation and transport to the clinic", and the 2026 patient wrote "BHC also recommended local hotels to choose from."

Aftercare and Follow-Up When You Fly Home

The DHI shaven page lists "in-person or virtual check-ins at 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months". It doesn't say how the virtual ones work. The partial-shave DHI page says GFC sessions "may be recommended at 3, 6, and 12 months". One 2026 patient was quoted GFC as an extra.

The clinic's instructions include the headband "for 4-7 days after the procedure to prevent any facial swelling", no rubbing or scratching the area for 2 weeks, and no haircut or dye for a month. Wash timing differs between its pages, from the next day to "after 2 - 3 days", so follow the written instructions you're given. The FAQ says most patients return to light activities "within 1 to 2 days".

The July 2026 patient got "a message from the clinic checking up on me" the next day. "The next three consecutive days involved a half hour appointment back at BHC for dressing changes, hair wash and some laser light therapy." Dr. Jate saw them on the first and last day, and "5 days post op I flew back home." Our recovery guide covers the weeks after.

Location and Getting There

The contact page gives "R.Q. 6 402, The Racquet Club, Building 6, 4th Floor, Sukhumvit 49/9", "Bangkok, Thailand 10110". It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 19:00, so closed on Mondays. A 2022 Bangkok Post piece, labeled branded content, says "The clinic offers bilingual services and simultaneous interpretation services."

Watch for look-alike names. At least one directory listing titled "Bangkok Hair Clinic" describes a different clinic. Check the address before you trust a review.

Bangkok Hair Clinic Reviews: What Patients Report

Reddit's search lists about 20 threads naming Bangkok Hair Clinic from May 2024 to September 2026. They're mostly questions asking whether anyone has tried the clinic, with few replies. Eight accounts say they were BHC patients. In April 2026 one poster was "surprised that there are no reviews on this subreddit", and a commenter thought the clinic "caters to mostly thais and hence lower reddit presence".

Every report below is one person's account, dated by the post. None is verified by AsiaPatient, and photos in the posts aren't described here.

Positive and Mixed Reports

Post dateWhereWhat the poster wrote
Jul 2022MyMediTravel"I'd say the final outcome is satisfactory, though the initial shedding phase was stressful."
Feb 2023MyMediTravel"6 months looks natural and im so confident now.."
Feb 2024MyMediTravel"The results 100% exceeded my expectations."
Jun 2024r/HairTransplants"Both extractions and transplants were less painful than I thought it would be" (3,700 grafts). A promised 4-month update never appeared in the thread.
Dec 2024Medihair"This a follow up review 9 months after my initial transplant. The transplant has been a complete success."
Mar 2025r/HairTransplants10 months after 3,200 grafts: "I only shed from the start of 2nd month to end of 4th month". The poster credits finasteride and minoxidil for part of the thickening.
Jul 2026r/HairTransplants"Excellent clinic, wonderful experience and great results so far. Will repost updates at 6 and 12 months." About a week after surgery. Also "Dr Jirayu explained add on services that were an option but in no way was trying to upsell."
Sep 2026same thread"I'm 2+ months post surgery - ugly duckling phase passed now waiting for regrowth."
Sep 2026r/HairtransplantAt 5.5 months: "Mostly hoping the front looks more clean and the sides thicken up a bit more." No verdict given.

The July 2026 patient also wrote "I guess the final test is what my hair will look like 6 and 12 months away and beyond." As of mid October 2026 no 6-month update is in the thread.

Complaints, Criticism and Doubts

A 2022 negative review. A MyMediTravel reviewer wrote in August 2022 that "The growth has been patchy, and the density is not what was promised during the consultation."

A detailed negative account, April and August 2026. A commenter in an r/HairTransplants thread told readers to avoid the clinic and Dr. Jirayu, writing "I had an awful experience there." The surgery date isn't given. In the patient's own words:

On 21 August 2026 another commenter replied to the April account: "Just want to say I met Dr Jirayu a few years ago and had quite the opposite experience." That reply doesn't say whether it was a consultation or surgery. The patient answered the same day: "My hairline now looks good, but the temples I have to keep short because otherwise they look almost entirely disconnected."

Turned down for one area. An October 2024 poster said the clinic told them at consultation "they can't transplant hairs over hairs", and advised PRP and medication instead.

Doubts from people weighing other clinics. In October 2024 a HairTran Clinic patient wrote "BHC operates with two really young doctors" and preferred Dr. Patty's results, though "BHC has still a decent price". An August 2026 poster who'd paid a deposit "found a couple of negative ones stating to completely avoid this clinic", while saying the Google reviews looked positive.

What the Reports Can't Tell You

There are no 6- or 12-month results yet from the July 2026 patient, and the June 2024 patient never posted any in the thread. MyMediTravel shows 9 reviews averaging 4.6, all from 2021 to 2024, and Medihair a score of 8.3 from 4 reviews.

There's no current Google Maps rating on this page; the only count on record is a November 2024 poster's "over 400 good Google Reviews". Thai-language review sites such as Lemon8 and Pantip aren't covered here, and one April 2026 commenter said that's where more reviews are.

Bangkok Hair Clinic Compared With HairTran and Absolute

Patients weighing BHC usually compare it with HairTran and Absolute Hair Clinic. A November 2024 poster was quoted "BHC: 65 / graft with Dr. Jate Absolute: 100 / graft with Dr. Ratchathron". An August 2025 poster compared 75 THB at BHC with "Absolute Clinic at 90 THB for 3000 grafts", then wrote "I've gone with Absolute Hair in Bangkok." In August 2026 a commenter said BHC had a spot the next month while, by their account, the other two had waits of over a year.

Our profiles of the HairTran clinic and Absolute Hair Clinic use the same format as this page, and our Absolute vs HairTran comparison sets those two side by side. The other Bangkok clinics are in our Bangkok clinic comparison.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay a Deposit

1. Which doctor will do my case, and what's their Thai Medical Council license number? 2. Who does the extraction, the incisions and the implanting, and how many people work on me at once? 3. What's the price for my graft count in writing, and what happens if the count changes on the day? 4. What does the price include, and what costs extra? 5. How much is the deposit, is it refundable, and can I move my date? 6. What does the free revision cover, for how long, and who decides it's needed? 7. How do the virtual follow-ups work once I'm home? 8. Do you still offer FUT, and what's the most grafts you'd do for my case?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bangkok Hair Clinic legit, and is it licensed?

The Ministry of Public Health register has a private-clinic record under the Thai name for "BHC Clinic" at the clinic's own room, license 10101036563, valid to 2029 by our conversion. Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon is an ABHRS Verified Diplomate and an ISHRS Full Member on those bodies' listings. The doctors' Thai license numbers are the clinic's statements, so check them on the Thai Medical Council register.

Who are the doctors at Bangkok Hair Clinic?

The clinic names Dr. Jirayu Jatechayanon, Dr. Jate Jatechayanon and Dr. Bunphon Kijkunasatien. Dr. Jirayu has the ABHRS and ISHRS listings, and the clinic claims neither for the other two. The July 2026 patient had a video consultation with Dr. Jirayu and surgery with Dr. Jate.

How much does a hair transplant cost at Bangkok Hair Clinic?

The clinic publishes wording, not a price: for DHI, "high five-figures to six-figures (THB)". Most patient quotes and payments posted from June 2024 to April 2026 run about 65 to 86 THB per graft. The newest dated quote, from April 2026, was 129,000 THB for the first 1,500 grafts and 75 THB per graft after that.

Does Bangkok Hair Clinic offer long hair or non-shaven transplants?

Yes: non-shaven FUE, partial-shave DHI and long hair DHI. Its table puts partial-shave at 1,500 to 2,000 grafts and long hair at under 1,500, against more than 3,000 for shaven DHI. The clinic says long hair DHI costs more.

Is the consultation free, and is a deposit needed?

The clinic says consultations are free, and you can send photos of your hair loss on LINE for a first estimate. One 2026 patient had a free video call with a surgeon, then paid a 10,000 THB deposit to hold the date. The clinic publishes no deposit or refund terms, so ask for them in writing.

What do Bangkok Hair Clinic reviews say, good and bad?

The record is small and split. A July 2026 patient called it an "Excellent clinic" about a week after surgery, with no long-term result posted yet. An April 2026 patient described a disconnected temple and said the clinic offered another transplant to fix it. Marketplace reviews from 2021 to 2024 are mostly positive, with one negative one from 2022.

What follow-up do I get after I fly home?

The clinic lists check-ins at 2 weeks and at 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months, "in-person or virtual", without saying how the virtual ones work. One 2026 patient had three daily visits for dressing, washing and laser light, then flew home five days after the procedure.
