All Inclusive Hair Transplant in Thailand: What the Written Quote Should Include
In July 2024, one r/HairTransplants poster wrote about seeing three doctors in Bangkok about an FUE transplant. The last one gave instructions for before and after, and as the poster wrote, "she also said she will include the medicine to take for hair loss after 3 months however her price is souch cheaper than the rest?"
Only one of the three said the medicine was in her price. Clinics, costs and safety for the whole trip are in our guide to hair transplants in Thailand.
An all inclusive hair transplant quote can only be compared when each line is in writing. That means the price basis, the graft count or range, the medicines and for how many months, PRP and other add-ons, follow-up visits, hotel and transfers if included, and what costs extra.
Ask every clinic for that breakdown in writing before you pay a deposit.
Below is each line, what Thai hair transplant clinics publish for it, and how to set two quotes side by side.
Why a written quote matters
The ISHRS, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, says the cost of FUE "is very broad and cannot be published reasonably on this website." It tells patients: "You will have to consult a hair transplant surgeon to establish the cost of your FUE hair transplant."
The same page says "Use of postoperative bandages, sprays, etc., along with other policies like return to exercise, water exposure, etc., vary among surgeons". So aftercare can differ from one surgeon to the next.
Hairsmith in Bangkok points at the unit itself on its cost page: "Some clinics count by individual hairs, while others count by grafts, so it's important to clarify what is being charged for to avoid misunderstandings."
Patients do get written breakdowns. A Bangkok Hair Clinic patient posted on r/HairTransplants in July 2026: "I received a comprehensive Messenger message with the video call summary including daily schedule of the procedure pre and post op guides and summary of fees."
The ISHRS also asks patients shopping on price to "be sure they are not giving up healthcare safeguards in exchange for their discount" (ISHRS). A written list is where you see what a lower number leaves out.
The two pricing models: per-graft versus flat package
The ISHRS describes the split: "Most surgeons charge per graft, whereas a few do not charge per graft but charge a set amount for the procedure based on a projected graft range." Thai hair transplant clinics use both, and some mix them.
Clinic prices and offers on this page were read 16 October 2026, except HE Clinic and Dr. Top (17 October 2026), Absolute Hair Clinic's PRP prices (9 October 2026) and Healthi Life (20 October 2026). Dollars at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026).
The per-graft model and its weak points
Hairsmith charges "80 baht per graft (2025 pricing), with a minimum of 1,000 grafts", about $2.41. Below 1,000 grafts the rate rises to ฿90 (about $2.72), with a minimum charge of ฿59,000 (about $1,780).
Confirmed by DHT Clinic in writing, 15 October 2026
DHT Clinic told AsiaPatient by email on 15 October 2026 that it charges ฿123 a graft above 600 grafts (about $3.71). Cases of 1-600 grafts carry a ฿78,000 minimum (about $2,350).
So the rate alone doesn't give you the price. The quote also needs the minimum, your graft count, and whether the clinic counts grafts or hairs.
The flat or package model, and why "all-inclusive" needs a written definition
HE Clinic in Thonglor prices by graft band, "with no other costs or charges". Its shaven tiers are ฿99,000 for 1,000 grafts, ฿119,000 for 2,000 and ฿149,000 for a package over 2,800 (about $2,990, $3,590 and $4,500).
Dr. Top Hair Hospital showed Standard FUE / DHI short hair from ฿110,000 up to 2,000 grafts (about $3,320), plus ฿10,000 (about $300) per extra 500, as shown on 17 October 2026. The page shows prices in the visitor's currency.
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient above was quoted a mix of both: "Fee was 129,000THB for first 1500 grafts and additional 75THB per graft". That is about ฿86 a graft for the first block (129,000 / 1,500, our arithmetic), then ฿75 a graft (about $3,890 for the block, $2.60 and $2.26 a graft).
HairTran prints FUE "Starting at 102,000 THB" (about $3,080). The same page says: "Final costs vary based on the number of grafts required and the doctor's assessment."
"All-inclusive" has no shared definition. Each clinic writes its own:
- Thai Hair Clinic (Thailand Hair Transplant Center) in Chiang Mai: "Our price listed below is all-inclusive", with "no unexpected additional costs after the procedure; no other potential recovery costs such as for pain reliever, anti-inflammatory drug, and antibiotics; daily hair wash; and post-op care."
- Hairsmith: "no hidden costs, and nothing more to pay for the rest of the year while the hair grows."
- HairTran's Thai-language cost guide, translated from Thai: "the hair transplant price we quote to the patient already includes all costs, covering medication, shampoo, LLLT laser treatment, and a results guarantee".
- DHT Clinic's email: "There is no other hidden cost." The same email lists blood tests, transport, accommodation and other medication as not included.
Both DHT lines are true at once. That's why the list tells you more than the label.
For all-inclusive packages that bundle a hotel and transfers, see our Thailand packages guide.
The line items a written quote should itemize
Each line below is something to find in the quote, or to ask about before you pay. Where a Thai clinic publishes its own version, we show it.
Graft count, locked or an agreed range
On a per-graft or banded quote, the graft count sets the total. A flat package is the exception. Ask for an exact number or an agreed range, plus the rate for every graft above it.
The Bangkok Hair Clinic quote above shows why. Its fee covers the first 1,500 grafts, and every graft past that adds ฿75.
Estimates can also move between photos and the consultation room. One r/HairTransplants poster wrote in October 2024 that they were quoted 2,500 grafts from photos, which came down to 1,800 at the in-person consultation.
If the number on the day differs from your quote, our page on what happens when the graft count differs from the quote covers what to ask.
The technique and why it was chosen
Some clinics price techniques differently, so the technique belongs on the quote next to the number. Hairsmith charges ฿80 a graft for standard FUE and ฿120 (about $3.62) for non-shaven FUE.
Confirmed by DHT Clinic in writing, 15 October 2026
DHT Clinic's email puts beard-to-scalp FUE at ฿150 a graft (about $4.53), against ฿123 for scalp grafts.
One patient who booked with Dr. Patty at HairTran posted in April 2026 that they were quoted ฿197,000 for "FUE full shave" and ฿280,000 for a partial shave (about $5,940 and $8,450). The post gives no graft count, and the partial shave came to about 42% more (83,000 / 197,000, our arithmetic).
Bangkok Hair Clinic's Thai-language FUE page sets its technique variants against graft bands. One cost tier reads "Higher (because of the transplant technique)" (translated from Thai).
Ask the clinic to write down which technique it will use and why it suits your scalp.
Who does which step
The ABHRS, the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, says making the extraction incisions "is a non-delegable act, and must be performed by the physician of record". It adds that "the creation of incisions for placement of grafts is also non-delegable". Placing the grafts isn't on that list.
The ISHRS says grafts are placed "most often by the trained staff".
One r/HairTransplants commenter wrote in 2024 about what a Bangkok doctor told them: "He told me that he will do all incisions and extractions and do between 25-50% of the implantation."
Ask in writing: "Which steps will the surgeon do, and which will staff do?"
You can also look the doctor up by name on the Medical Council of Thailand's register.
Anesthesia, doctor's fee and operating room
The AAD, the American Academy of Dermatology, says "Most patients remain awake during the entire surgery and need only an anesthesia that makes the scalp numb." Thai Hair Clinic's included list names local anesthetic.
DHT Clinic's email includes the "Doctor's fee" and "All medications involved in the Surgery".
Hairsmith's cost page warns: "Some clinics may claim to offer a guarantee but later charge for surgical rooms or doctor fees." So ask whether anesthesia, the doctor's fee and the operating room sit inside the number.
Pre-operative blood tests
The same test can be inside one price and a separate line in another. DHT Clinic's email lists as not included: "Blood test for HIV Antigen + Antibody and Hepatitis C antibody, ATK/ Antigen test kit for Covid (1300 Baht)", about $40.
Thai Hair Clinic includes "Pre-operative test and treatment: HIV blood test, local anesthetic and surgery medication."
HairTran's homepage tells patients to "Complete an HIV test, which is required before every procedure."
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient was offered the clinic's HIV test or "the option to bring a blood test result from my GP back home." So ask whether a recent result from home is accepted, and what the clinic's own test costs.
Post-operative medicines
Hairsmith includes "Hair growth medications for 12 months". Thai Hair Clinic lists "Post-operative medications: antibiotics, pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drug, and sleeping pills."
HairTran's Thai-language cost guide says, translated from Thai, that "the price we quote the patient already covers the medication and the post-op care set, but there may be extra costs for patients who want a root-stimulating treatment".
DHT Clinic includes "All medications involved in the Surgery" and lists "Other medication and hair products" as not included.
So ask what you'll be given after surgery, and how many months of hair-loss medicine the price covers.
Aftercare kit and supplies
Hairsmith lists "Moisturizing spray post-transplant", a "Post-transplant cap", a "Pillow cover" and "Free post-transplant shampoo and scab removal".
Thai Hair Clinic lists "A blue pad gel pillowcase", "A u-shaped neck pillow", "A headband" and "A bandana or a hat". Bangkok Hair Clinic tells patients to "Continue to wear the given headband for 4-7 days after the procedure".
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient described his kit: "I was provided with a bag containing post op care booklet, wound pads for cleaning, a surgical mat for placing on my pillow to prevent staining sheets, medication including paracetamol, zinc and biotin, oral minoxidil and a bottle of saline spray."
Follow-up visits, how many and after the trip
HairTran publishes "A 1-Year Follow-Up Program" with check-ins at 1 day, 2 weeks, and 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. It says the day-one visit is "performed by medical assistants under doctor supervision".
Hairsmith lists "Follow-up visits every 3 months for one year". Thai Hair Clinic lists "a hair wash and checkup daily till your departure date."
DHT Clinic includes "Post-operative care, change of Dressing or removal of stitches if needed". Absolute Hair Clinic's post-op article says, translated from Thai, that it has "a hair-washing service and teaches hair washing during the first 4 days after the transplant".
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient wrote: "The next three consecutive days involved a half hour appointment back at BHC for dressing changes, hair wash and some laser light therapy."
Once you're home, photos may stand in for visits. One r/HairTransplants poster wrote in 2023: "You don't even really have to do an in person follow up, just send pics. Ofc in person is better if you can."
PRP and other add-ons, included or extra
These are the published prices for treatments a quote may include or sell separately.
| Add-on | Clinic | Published price | About |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRP, one session | OpenHouse Clinic, Bangkok | ฿6,500 | $200 |
| PRP, 4 sessions "(Valid 1year)" | OpenHouse Clinic | ฿22,000 | $660 |
| PRP, one injection | Absolute Hair Clinic, Bangkok | ฿20,000 (the clinic writes "$625 USD") | $600 |
| PRP, 3 monthly injections | Absolute Hair Clinic | ฿50,000 | $1,510 |
| Hair Root Stimulation, per session | HairTran | from ฿15,000 | $450 |
| Exosome Hair Therapy, per session | Healthi Life, Bangkok | ฿35,000 | $1,060 |
Healthi Life labels its exosome therapy "Investigational; outcomes vary by individual." Its page adds that exosome therapy "has not been approved by the U.S. FDA for routine treatment."
Some clinics fold laser therapy into the fee. HairTran says "All hair transplant patients at Hairtran Clinic receive Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) at no additional cost", and Hairsmith includes "Unlimited use of a low-level laser therapy (LLLT) hair growth cap for one year".
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient was offered PRP and other treatments as priced options on top of his fee. His final figure: "I paid approx $6650USD including PRP therapy".
Technology surcharges
HairTran says it uses "the Implanter Pen technique for every patient - at no additional cost".
Absolute Hair Clinic writes in a Thai-language article, translated from Thai: "Some charge a higher fee for 'DHI' hair transplant than for ordinary FUE, giving the reason that they use better equipment, namely the implant pen."
So if a quote carries a device or technique surcharge, ask for it as its own line.
The consultation fee
DHT Clinic's email includes the "Preoperative Consultation fee if sign in for the surgery". So the consultation is covered once you book.
Revision or touch-up policy
Hairsmith says: "After one year, if there are areas where the hair hasn't grown well or hasn't grown at all, we will do a free touch-up without any extra charges."
HairTran says: "Hairtran Clinic provides a 1-year results guarantee. If the outcome does not meet the treatment plan and you have attended all scheduled follow-up visits, we will provide additional care at no extra cost within the warranty period."
Bangkok Hair Clinic says it will "provide a free revision if necessary to ensure the best possible outcome."
One r/HairTransplants poster wrote in 2023 that their surgeon "offered a free touch up of 700 grafts which is awesome." The terms belong in the quote, and our Thailand guarantees page compares what clinics offer.
The quote-to-bill line
None of the Thai clinic pages we read publishes a written promise that the final bill will match the quote. DHT Clinic's email comes closest: "There is no other hidden cost."
Ask for one line saying the final bill matches the quote, and the per-graft rate that applies if the count changes on the day. A clinic may say no.
What stays outside the all-inclusive package
DHT Clinic's email lists what it doesn't include: blood tests and the Covid test kit (฿1,300), "Transportation and Accommodation", and "Other medication and hair products".
HairTran's Thai-language cost guide lists other hidden costs that may be encountered on a Thailand trip in general (translated from Thai):
- Additional medication under the treatment plan
- Vitamins or supplements for hair and scalp
- A dedicated post-transplant shampoo or hair-care product
- A post-transplant root-stimulating treatment or program
- Extra doctor follow-up visits in some cases
Flights, hotel and the stay
HairTran writes: "For international patients, we recommend allowing at least two weeks for your entire hair transplant journey". That stay is part of what you pay for, even if it isn't on the clinic's bill.
So ask whether the quote includes any hotel nights or airport transfers, and which dates they cover. Ask who pays for extra nights if your dates move.
Long-term hair-loss medication
HairTran's article on medicine after a transplant says, translated from Thai, that "you will be advised to take medication after the transplant as well, for at least 1 year." It adds: "The role of the medication here is to stop or slow hair fall, so that your natural hair stays with you longer".
The AAD says "Medicine helps because hair loss and thinning can continue, even after a hair transplant." Bangkok Hair Clinic's FAQ says "Medications like finasteride or minoxidil can help maintain existing hair and delay further loss."
Months not covered by the quote are a recurring cost. Hairsmith says some clinics charge ฿1,000-5,000 a month for medication (about $30-$150).
Follow-up beyond the package period
HairTran's and Hairsmith's follow-up programs both end at one year. HairTran's cost guide lists extra doctor follow-up visits in some cases among the hidden costs of a Thailand trip in general.
Unless a touch-up policy covers it, a second session is a new price. Ask for that rate in writing too.
Red flags: when to be cautious
These warning signs are our own judgment, not rules from a clinic or a medical body:
- A price with no graft count, range or technique beside it
- "All-inclusive" with no list of what it includes
- Inclusions given on a call that the clinic won't confirm in a message or document
- No clear answer to which steps the surgeon does
- A deposit requested before you have the written breakdown
A low price alone isn't proof of bad work. So ask who does the extraction and who places the grafts.
How to compare two quotes
Zack, an Australian who had a 4,300-graft FUE at Absolute Hair Clinic in Bangkok in November 2024, wrote on Hair to Freedom: "If you're comparing a quote in Thailand with a quote from a clinic in another country, don't compare surgery price against surgery price only. Compare the whole trip."
The ISHRS says "the real cost of hair transplant surgery should be looked at from the perspective of your long-term results and satisfaction and not only from the perspective of how much you can save for your first surgery."
Quotes also differ for reasons beyond what they include, such as the surgeon's experience and the type of practice.
Compare what each fee covers, not the surgery line alone
Put both quotes into the same rows. Any row one quote leaves blank is a question for that clinic. A blank isn't always a bad sign.
| Line in the quote | What to check |
|---|---|
| Price basis | Per graft, per band or package; the minimum; grafts or hairs |
| Graft count | An exact number or a range, and the rate above it |
| Technique | Shaven FUE, non-shaven, DHI or FUT, and why |
| Who does which step | Which steps the surgeon does and which staff do |
| Tests and anesthesia | HIV and hepatitis tests, local anesthetic, doctor's fee, operating room |
| Medicines | What you get after surgery, and months of hair-loss medicine |
| Aftercare kit | Pillow, headband, spray, shampoo, hat |
| Follow-up | Number of visits, which are in person, for how long |
| Add-ons | PRP, laser therapy and other treatments: included or priced |
| Touch-up | Included or not, and the conditions |
| Travel | Hotel nights, transfers, and extra nights if dates move |
| Deposit and payment | Amount, refund terms, payment method |
The questions that bring out what is missing
We'd send every clinic the same five questions before paying anything, so you get the same information from each:
1. What's included, and what isn't? 2. What happens to the price if I need more or fewer grafts on the day? 3. Which steps will the surgeon do, and which will staff do? 4. What happens to my deposit if the surgeon decides on the day that I'm not a good candidate? 5. How long is this price valid?
The fine print: validity, deposits and payment
Quote validity or expiration date
Prices can change between the consultation and the booking. One r/HairTransplants poster wrote in March 2023: "I've seen one or two people here quoted a higher price than they gave me. The mentioned that they increase prices every quarter."
So ask for a valid-until date on the quote.
Deposit refundable or not
Varun Sinai Priolkar, who had his transplant in Thailand, wrote in January 2025: "We also did a HIV test and I made a deposit for roughly half the amount with a combination of Wise and Credit Cards." That's one patient's deposit, not a rule.
Zack described "the deposit paid upon securing an appointment over Whatsapp." Ask whether the deposit is refundable, by what date, and what happens to it if the clinic decides you're not a candidate.
Paying in installments
HairTran says: "We offer 0% installment plans for up to 10 months with participating credit cards." If a clinic offers this, ask for the terms in the same document as the quote.
Budget for the first year
HairTran's Thai-language cost guide gives these estimates for a Thailand trip in general (translated from Thai). They are its estimates for the market, not its own price list.
| Line | HairTran's estimate | About |
|---|---|---|
| FUE procedure | ฿70,000-300,000 | $2,110-$9,050 |
| Non-shaven FUE | ฿80,000-200,000 | $2,410-$6,040 |
| Long hair transplant | ฿120,000-300,000 | $3,620-$9,050 |
| Return airfare | ฿15,000-100,000 | $450-$3,020 |
| Accommodation, at least 3 nights | ฿2,400-45,000 | $70-$1,360 |
| Local transport | ฿900-5,600 | $30-$170 |
| Food | ฿1,500-14,000 | $50-$420 |
| Hidden costs | ฿5,000-15,000 | $150-$450 |
The accommodation line covers at least 3 nights. HairTran's homepage recommends at least two weeks for international patients, so a longer stay adds to that line.
Over the first year, add any months of medicine your quote doesn't cover and any PRP you choose. OpenHouse Clinic's PRP page says "Maintenance treatments every 3-4 months are recommended to sustain results."
What a written quote looks like in Thailand
Thailand per-graft prices in one line
Patients report paying ฿36-123 per graft across five Bangkok clinics (31 reports and quotes, 2023 to 2026), about $1.09-$3.71. Most reports at Absolute, Bangkok Hair Clinic and Hairsmith fall at ฿65-90 (about $1.96-$2.72). Some fall outside it.
Clinic rates by country are on our FUE cost page.
Five clinics' inclusions side by side
We compare what clinics publish, and one clinic's email to AsiaPatient; nobody at AsiaPatient has visited these clinics or had a procedure at them.
| Clinic | Price basis | What its own page or email lists as included |
|---|---|---|
| Hairsmith, Bangkok | ฿80 a graft, 1,000-graft minimum | Hair-growth medication for 12 months, follow-up every 3 months for a year, LLLT cap for a year, cap, pillow cover, spray, shampoo and scab removal, free touch-up after a year where hair hasn't grown well |
| Thai Hair Clinic, Chiang Mai | US$3.00 a graft for FUE | HIV blood test, local anesthetic, antibiotics, pain relievers, anti-inflammatory, sleeping pills, daily hair wash and checkup until departure, gel pillowcase, neck pillow, headband, bandana or hat |
| HairTran, Bangkok | FUE from ฿102,000; non-shaven ฿100 a graft (about $3.02) | Medication and post-op care set, LLLT, 1-year follow-up program, 1-year results guarantee if you attend all follow-ups |
| DHT Clinic, Bangkok (Confirmed by the clinic in writing, 15 October 2026) | ฿123 a graft above 600; ฿78,000 minimum | Doctor's fee, consultation if you book, medications for the surgery, post-op care, dressing changes and stitch removal. Not included: blood tests and Covid test (฿1,300), transport, accommodation, other medication |
| HE Clinic, Bangkok | ฿99,000 for 1,000 grafts to ฿149,000 over 2,800 | "with no other costs or charges" |
Thai Hair Clinic prices in US dollars, so its rate stays in dollars here.
What patients report: real Thailand quotes
Three Bangkok consultations for similar graft counts
The poster from the opening wrote on r/HairTransplants: "I went to see 3 doctors in Bangkok about hair transplants they was all very similar with the amount of hair needed 2100-2700 plantations FUE."
The three totals were far apart, and only the cheapest doctor said the medicine was included.
Two patients' itemized lists
The Bangkok Hair Clinic patient listed what his fee covered: "The price covers doctor and nurse fees, antibiotics, 6 months of oral minoxidil tablets, pain relief, 1 month supply of hair vitamins (zinc/biotin tablets), shampoo, defense gel, post op wound care, hat, bandana and pre/post op care booklets."
Zack listed what the total at Absolute Hair Clinic included:
- PRP (platelet-rich plasma) during the procedure
- Pre and post-operative medication
- Antibiotics
- Pain relief
- Medication to help with sleeping
- Antihistamines for itching
- Wound care
- Hair washing
- Five consecutive days of post-operative care
- Low-level light/laser therapy (Healite) treatment
- Oxygen chamber treatment as part of the initial recovery care
Zack wrote: "The clinic was upfront about the pricing and I knew what I was paying for before the procedure". Zack added: "The additional post-operative care I paid for was my choice rather than something sprung on me afterwards."
From per-graft rate to total
Hairsmith shows the arithmetic on its own cost page: "if a patient needs 1,500 grafts, the total cost would be 1,500 x 80 = 120,000 baht." That is about $3,620.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a consultation cost?
DHT Clinic told AsiaPatient by email that its fee includes the "Preoperative Consultation fee if sign in for the surgery", so the consultation is covered if you book. Ask each clinic whether its fee is credited against the surgery.
Do I still need hair-loss medication after the transplant?
The AAD says "Medicine helps because hair loss and thinning can continue, even after a hair transplant." HairTran writes, translated from Thai, that you will be advised to take medication after the transplant "for at least 1 year."
Check how many months your quote covers. Hairsmith includes 12 months and says some clinics charge ฿1,000-5,000 a month.
How many follow-up visits will I need, and can I do them from home?
HairTran's program has six check-ins, from the day after surgery to 12 months. Hairsmith lists visits every three months for a year, and Thai Hair Clinic checks you daily until you fly home.
One r/HairTransplants poster wrote that you "don't even really have to do an in person follow up, just send pics." Ask which visits need you in the clinic.
Why would one clinic be much cheaper and still include the medicine?
Clinics put different things inside the price. One may include medicine and follow-up while another bills blood tests, medicine or add-ons separately, and graft estimates differ too.
Put both quotes into the same rows and compare what each fee covers. A low price alone isn't proof of bad work, so ask who does the extraction and who places the grafts.
After the transplant, are there extra costs?
There can be. HairTran's Thai-language cost guide lists extra medication, hair vitamins, a dedicated shampoo, a root-stimulating program and, in some cases, extra doctor follow-up visits.
DHT Clinic's email lists other medication and hair products as not included. Ask the clinic to write down what it treats as extra.
If a top-up is needed, how much should I set aside?
Ask before you book. Hairsmith says that after one year it will "do a free touch-up without any extra charges" where hair hasn't grown well.
HairTran says that if the outcome does not meet the treatment plan and you attended all scheduled follow-up visits, it gives additional care at no extra cost within its one-year warranty period. Without a policy like that, get the price of a second session in writing.
