Where to Stay in Bangkok for a Hair Transplant: Distance, Rooms and Clinic Hotel Lists (2026)
An r/HairTransplants poster planning a procedure with Dr. Laorwong at Absolute Hair Clinic asked for hotel tips. The clinic had given them a list of recommended hotels, and they wanted "Something close by, maybe 15 minutes walking at most." Two patients replied with the same hotel, a 10-minute walk from the clinic.
That thread holds most of the answer: a clean, plain room within a short walk of your clinic's current address, chosen after you've asked the clinic for its own hotel list. This page is part of our Bangkok hair transplant guide, and it covers how close to stay, what the room needs and where patients say they stayed.
Clinics cannot pay to be listed or ranked higher on AsiaPatient. We don't rank hotels either. Every hotel on this page is one a patient, a clinic or a Reddit poster mentioned first.
Hotels Near the Clinic: What "Close" Actually Means
Patients set their own limit. In that Dr. Laorwong thread, the poster's was "maybe 15 minutes walking at most." The walks other patients report run from about 4 minutes to "just over ten."
The reason to keep it short is the heat. A HairTran patient wrote: "You do not want to walk a lot in Bangkok if the recommendation is to limit sweating post surgery." (r/HairTransplants)
Not every patient worries about the walk itself. In a thread asking whether to stay close or further away somewhere pleasant, an r/tressless poster who stayed an "8-10 min walk" from Dr. Patty's clinic replied: "The walk will have absolutely 0 impact on the transplant." (r/tressless)
That's one patient's view. On walking and sweating, follow your own clinic's aftercare sheet.
The other option is a car. "Don't worry about walking-- take a grab taxi everywhere," another poster wrote in the Dr. Laorwong thread.
A Dr. Laorwong patient chose to "spend a bit more on the hotel" and stayed at the Millennium Hilton, "about a 10-15 minute 'Grab' (Thai Uber) ride away." (r/HairTransplants)
Pick a room you can reach on foot in about 15 minutes, or budget for a car to every clinic visit.
Step One: Find Where Your Clinic Is Now
Bangkok's clinics sit in different parts of the city. A hotel that's a short walk from one hair transplant clinic can be a long ride from another.
DHT Clinic gives its address as "1/8 Soi Pradipat 23 Pradipat Rd. Samsen Nai, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400" on its own site (read 15 October 2026). That's Phaya Thai, not Sukhumvit.
HairTran's homepage gives "No.2 Quant, 3rd Floor, Unit B and C, Soi Sukhumvit 25". It says the clinic is "Just a 3-5 minute walk from BTS Asok (Exit 6) and MRT Sukhumvit (Exit 2)." (read 15 October 2026) Our HairTran review covers its surgeon and prices.
Older patient posts describe HairTran at Ekkamai. One wrote: "The clinic is located in a complex attached to the station," meaning BTS Ekkamai. Another mentioned "the huge Gateway Ekamai mall right across from the clinic."
So the hotels patients mention for HairTran are near Ekkamai, where those patients describe the clinic. Check them against the address HairTran gives you before you book anything.
For Absolute Hair Clinic, one patient wrote: "The clinic is directly next to BTS Station Krung Thon Buri... so getting there is easy as long as you stay somewhere within walking distance of the dark green line." (r/HairTransplants)
Our Absolute Hair Clinic review covers its doctors and waiting times.
Ask your clinic for its current address in writing, then search for a hotel from that address, not from an old thread.
How Many Nights to Book
Ask your clinic for its post-op care and check-up schedule, then book the room for that many nights. Our Bangkok recovery guide goes through those first days one by one.
Why You Stay Near the Clinic at All
For recovery timing and aftercare after treatment, see our Bangkok recovery guide. When booking, ask for extra pillows, air conditioning, a quiet room, and room service or food delivery.
The Hotels Clinics Recommend
Several Bangkok clinics give patients a hotel list or arrange the hotel. Ask for it before you search on your own.
What a Clinic Hotel List Looks Like
The poster in the Dr. Laorwong thread shared Absolute's list in 2024: "They gave me a list of recommended hotels / Cascade hotel, / Aim House Bangkok hotel. / Hop inn / Ex Capital / Oakwood / Holiday Inn express and suites / Centre Point hotel Silom / Prince Theatre Heritage Stay / Shangri-La / Hilton / Peninsula / Mode Sathon Hotel / Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn".
Ask Absolute for the list it hands out now.
HairTran patients describe the same thing. "Hairtan provided a list close by hotels all within walking distance of the clinic," one wrote.
A companion planning the trip wrote: "Dr. Patty has a list of recommended hotels, but it's helpful to know if there are any we absolutely should avoid." Ask HairTran for the list that matches the address it gives you now.
Max Hair Thailand names its hotel on its own medical package page: "Centara Grand Hotel, located at Central Plaza Ladprao, provides convenient access to the clinic while supporting rest and recovery during the treatment period." It says "Hotel arrangements are coordinated to align with your treatment schedule, recovery needs, and comfort" (read 15 October 2026).
Packages That Bundle the Hotel
Some packages put the hotel in the price. Bangkok Health Service, a medical travel operator rather than a clinic, has a 4-night package that lists "4 hotel nights: Accommodation selected within practical travelling distance of the clinic."
Its FAQ says: "The 15,000 THB accommodation and transport component covers up to two people sharing the same room, including breakfast and scheduled transfers." (Bangkok Health Service, read 15 October 2026)
That component is ฿15,000, about $450. It's a package line, not a nightly room rate. Dollars at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026).
Max Hair's package page lists hotel and transfers too.
Not every package does. An r/HairTransplants poster quoted a BHI Clinic package: "The cost doesn't include accommodation and transportation." (r/HairTransplants)
Ask whether the hotel is included in your quote, for how many nights, and whether a second person can share the room.
For what the procedure itself costs, see our Bangkok cost guide.
Where Patients Stayed
These are places patients mentioned in posts about their own procedures. It isn't a ranking. The HairTran stays were near Ekkamai, where these patients described the clinic. HairTran's site now gives Soi Sukhumvit 25, near BTS Asok.
| Where they stayed | Clinic | What the patient wrote |
|---|---|---|
| Aloft on Sukhumvit | Absolute | "I stayed at the Aloft on Sukhumvit" (r/HairTransplants) |
| Cascade Hotel | Absolute | "a 10 minute walk on the same sidewalk from Absolute Hair Clinic" (r/HairTransplants) |
| Bella B | Absolute | "just over ten minute walk to the clinic" (same r/HairTransplants thread) |
| Millennium Hilton | Absolute | "about a 10-15 minute 'Grab' (Thai Uber) ride away" (r/HairTransplants) |
| Civic Hotel | HairTran, 2024 post | "a few hundred yards away from the clinic" (r/HairTransplants) |
| An Airbnb | HairTran (Dr. Patty), 2024 post | "a nice Airbnb right next to the clinic" (r/HairTransplants) |
| Ekamai Hotel | HairTran, 2024 post | "about 7min walk away" (r/HairTransplants) |
| Somerset Ekkamai | HairTran (Dr. Patty), 2025 post | "8-10 min walk" (r/tressless) |
| Wyndham Garden Bangkok | HairTran (Dr. Patty), 2025 post | "about a 4 min walk to the clinic" (r/HairTransplants) |
Short-Walk Stays
Two patients in the Dr. Laorwong thread stayed at the Cascade. One described it as "Chill vibe, clean, quiet, 7eleven, BTS nearby" and added: "I saw a few Dr L's customers(signature black bandana) when I was there too."
The Civic Hotel patient wrote: "I picked the Civic Hotel which is a few hundred yards away from the clinic that even has a sky bridge from the Akamai BTS station."
The Wyndham Garden patient described the week: "Booked 7 nights at Wyndham Garden Bangkok, which is about a 4 min walk to the clinic (3rd day was operation day, then visited the clinic for hairwashing the following 4 days)."
Other Stays
The Millennium Hilton patient took the car ride over a walk and wrote: "I would highly recommend staying here if it fits within your budget."
The Somerset Ekkamai patient wrote: "Got a suite on the 16th floor and it was so worth it."
The Aloft patient wrote "I stayed in Bangkok for about 5 days after" and gave no distance to the clinic.
Close to the Clinic or Close to the Malls
Being close isn't the only thing patients weigh. A HairTran patient wrote: "I stayed at Somerset Ekamai but found area lacked (air conditioned) things to do, so BTS Siam, Chit Lom, or Phrom Phong for the mall nearby may be better." (r/HairTransplants)
The same poster later added: "That said Wyndham Garden is closer to the clinic and BTS." A reader who had been looking at the Somerset wrote: "I think I'm going to switch to the Wyndham Garden." They later added: "Yeah I just want to be close to the clinic and BTS."
Hotel, Serviced Apartment or Airbnb for the First Nights
One poster in a Dr. Patty thread wrote: "I ended up booking Jasmine 59 hotel for the first week then I have booked a condo called the Sacha apart hotel on air BnB for the second week."
The Airbnb patient in the table was staying for 11 days and wrote: "I'll be working from the Airbnb for most of the time."
For a longer stay, room size comes up. "IF you're planning to hang out in BK after surgery to recover, you may want a BIG ROOM to recover in, so you don't get cabin fever (with laundry, etc)," one poster wrote in the Dr. Laorwong thread.
The same poster added: "Staybridge has condo suites for rent in BK, not sure if they're on your side of town."
For a stay past the first week, ask about room size and laundry before you book.
What to Check Before Booking
| Check | What to ask or look for |
|---|---|
| Distance and traffic | Walk time from your clinic's current address. One patient's advice: "Stay close to the BTS (avoid road traffic)" |
| Lift and stairs | Ask whether the room is reached by lift. One patient's 8-10 minute route went "to an overpass down some stairs straight into the clinic" |
| Quiet room | The Cascade guest's list included "quiet". Medi Makeovers, a medical travel facilitator, says it picks hotels "away from the nightlife" |
| Air conditioning | "Air conditioned is a must of course," wrote someone planning a Dr. Patty trip |
| Laundry | Matters more on a longer stay ("with laundry, etc") |
| Food to the room | Room service or delivery, a fridge ("Fridge is a must") and a shop nearby. One patient stocked up at a "BigC Mini, 3 mins away from hotel" before surgery |
| Pillows for sleeping upright | Ask the hotel for extra pillows, and check what your clinic's kit includes |
| Card payment | One poster's list: "Takes US credit cards" |
Getting Around: The BTS Line and Grab
The BTS is a Bangkok train line. One patient called it the "BTS train line which is the main central travel line in Bangkok." Grab is the ride and delivery app patients use, glossed by one as "Thai Uber."
Staying on the line that reaches your clinic keeps you off the roads. For HairTran, a 2025 patient said "preferably on the same line as BTS Ekkamai," while HairTran's site now gives BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit. For Absolute, one patient said to stay "within walking distance of the dark green line."
Grab covers the rest. A poster who was there for 2 weeks wrote: "I used the 'Grab' app on my phone for taxi service and food delivery every day to my hotel for super cheap."
Another, who stayed 7 days alone, "stayed in malls and indoor areas, took cabs to other indoor places."
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I stay as close to the clinic as possible, or further away somewhere nicer?
Six of the nine stays in the table were a 10-minute walk or less from the clinic. One patient stayed further out, at the Millennium Hilton, and took a 10 to 15 minute Grab ride. Another found the Ekkamai area short on air-conditioned things to do.
A close hotel makes the wash and check-up visits shorter. A hotel further away means a car each time.
Is it safe to walk to the clinic after surgery?
Patients see it differently. One wrote that "The walk will have absolutely 0 impact on the transplant." Another warned against walking a lot in Bangkok if your clinic says to limit sweating.
DHT Clinic's Thai page says, in our translation, to avoid vigorous exercise that makes you sweat a lot for one month. Follow your own clinic's rule, and take a Grab if the walk is long or hot.
Does the clinic recommend hotels?
Several do. A poster planning a procedure there posted Absolute's list of 13 hotels. A HairTran patient said the clinic provided a list.
Max Hair's package page mentions Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao. Ask your clinic for its current list, and check it against the address the clinic gives you.
Does the quote include the hotel?
Sometimes. Bangkok Health Service's 4-night package includes a ฿15,000 accommodation and transport component, about $450. A BHI Clinic package quoted by an r/HairTransplants poster "doesn't include accommodation and transportation." Ask your clinic in writing which nights, if any, the price covers.
How many nights should I book?
Book to your clinic's post-op visit schedule. DHT Clinic says at least 3-4 days (read 15 October 2026), Max Hair says approximately 3-4 days for most international patients (read 15 October 2026), and HairTran recommends two weeks (read 15 October 2026). Patients report staying 5 to 15 days, some of them for the clinic's washes and one so the clinic could remove the scabs.
Can a companion share the room?
Bangkok Health Service says its package's accommodation component "covers up to two people sharing the same room." If you book the hotel yourself, the hotel sets the rule, so ask when you book.
