Mediren Clinic Reviews: Surgeons, Prices and What Patients Report (2026)

After an unsuccessful transplant elsewhere, a Pantip poster chose Mediren for repair. In a 26 September 2017 account, they described forehead swelling for two to three days and shedding during the first two months.

If you're comparing hair transplant clinics in Bangkok, Mediren is led by Dr. Ben Butwong. It has a main branch in Nonthaburi and a Century branch in Bangkok, and its own pages publish conflicting starting prices.

For repair after a past procedure like the case described on Pantip, Mediren says donor assessment comes first. Ask the doctor what earlier surgery leaves available for the work you want done.

Who the Surgeons Are

What the Clinic Says About Each Doctor

Mediren identifies its lead doctor as Dr. Ben Butwong, MD, and uses she/her pronouns. Her name appears as Dr. Benjawan Butwong in the professional directory below.

The clinic describes her as a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). It also lists her as FUE Asia president and a training committee member at the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).

What the ABHRS and ISHRS Listings Show

ISHRS lists Dr. Benjawan Butwong, MD, as a Full Member at Mediren Clinic in Nonthaburi. Her joining year is 2011.

Mediren's ABHRS credential and leadership claims need separate checks with the organizations named. Ask for Thai Medical Council registration details too, so you can check the doctor's license as well as professional memberships.

How to Check It Yourself

Use Dr. Benjawan Butwong when checking the ISHRS record. Ask Mediren for the operating doctor's full name and Thai registration number, along with the clinic license details for your branch.

Have the clinic identify the doctor on your treatment plan. That also gives you a name to check if the person offered for your appointment differs from the doctor you've been reading about.

Who Does Which Step

In the Clinic's Own Words

Mediren's male service page says procedures under Dr. Ben's care are performed personally by her. Its female service page says she personally oversees female procedures.

Neither statement names the person responsible for every operative step. Ask who removes the grafts and who creates the small openings for them. Then ask who places them and handles washing afterward.

Get those responsibilities written into your treatment plan.

If another team member will handle a step, ask for their role and who supervises them. The broad wording on the clinic's website doesn't answer that detail.

In Patients' Words

A Kani Vara excerpt reproduced by Thai Facial Clinic says Dr. Ben performed the procedure. It doesn't break down the surgical steps, so ask the clinic for that detail directly.

Techniques Offered

Mediren lists follicular unit extraction (FUE) and direct hair implantation (DHI) on its male and female service pages. These involve taking hair follicles from a donor area and placing them in thinning areas; the clinic also uses the combined name FUE-DHI.

Its menu includes standard FUE, non-shaven FUE, and long-hair FUE. If keeping your current hairstyle is the priority, ask which areas will be trimmed and what length will remain.

Our non-shaven FUE guide for Bangkok covers the shaving questions to take into a consultation. Have Mediren name the option on your quote so a general FUE price isn't mistaken for your chosen procedure.

The clinic also publishes natural hairline design and beard, mustache, and eyebrow services. Ask for a plan for the area you want treated, including how the doctor would use your available donor hair.

For previous surgery, Mediren's repair page says eligibility depends on assessing the donor area. It says depleted or damaged donor follicles might limit repair.

Bring details of the earlier procedure to that consultation. Ask what the doctor thinks can be changed, what cannot, and how much donor hair the proposed repair would use.

Mediren Clinic Price: What the Clinic Publishes and What Patients Pay

What the Clinic Publishes

Mediren's English and Thai pages give different starting prices. The English figure is attached to a small restoration area; the Thai page says its starting price depends on technique and graft count.

All clinic-published figures and offers in this table were read 18 October 2026.

Clinic pagePublished price or offerWhat it applies to
Mediren, English starting-price pageFrom THB 50,000, about $1,510A small restoration area; page dated 1 November 2025
Mediren, Thai price pageFrom THB 60,000, about $1,810Depends on technique and graft count; page shows 17 May and 3 September 2026
Mediren, Thai price pageTHB 89,000, about $2,690Advertised FUE-DHI package for 3,000 grafts
Mediren, review-prices pageA discount of 10% to 50%Depends on review level and case complexity; no base or final surgery price stated

Dollars at THB 33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026). Each dollar total is the listed baht amount divided by 33.14, rounded to the nearest $10.

The two starting prices don't tell you which one applies to your case. So send the relevant page with your inquiry and ask the clinic to identify the offer it is quoting.

The package names FUE-DHI. Don't assume it also prices long-hair or non-shaven work, or use the review discount to calculate a total without a written offer.

Patient-Reported Prices by Date

No usable dated patient-reported payment figure is available for Mediren. A reviewer calling the price reasonable gives you no amount to compare with your own quote.

What to Ask for in Writing

Ask for the total in baht, the technique, and the proposed graft count. Have the clinic explain what happens to the price if the final graft count differs from the estimate.

For a review-related discount, ask what participation involves and what happens if you decline. Get the conditions alongside the final total before agreeing to share a review or images.

Booking, Consultation and Deposit

Mediren's contact page lists an English call center at +66615579999 and WhatsApp at +66863303111. Use those published contacts to request the consultation arrangements and branch details.

Sam Wong's excerpt on Thai Facial Clinic says, "We scheduled a video call consultation via LINE because I live abroad." The directory labels it as edited four months ago, without an exact date.

Ask whether your consultation can follow that format and who will assess you. Mediren's service pages say "Consult with us for free"; ask whether that covers a remote consultation. Have the clinic explain what can be decided remotely and what still requires an examination in person.

The male service page says appointments can be scheduled within six months of booking, with flexibility for rescheduling. That wording gives no next-available date or typical waiting time.

The cited material doesn't publish a deposit amount or detailed refund terms. So get the deposit amount and payment route in writing. Ask separately about cancellations and changing your date before committing to flights.

What Is Included

Mediren mentions medication support after surgery. Its Thai price page (read 18 October 2026; our translation) says its high-quality graft storage solution and the Implanter pen it uses for FUE come at no added charge, and that buying additional courses is not required. It doesn't itemize anything else: there is no package breakdown for an aftercare kit, hotel, transfers, or follow-up visits.

Ask for each included item to appear on the quote, with any separate charges beside it. Medication support alone doesn't tell you which medicine is supplied, how much you receive, or whether it costs extra.

If you're offered additional treatment, ask whether it is optional and what it adds to the total. Keep accommodation and transport separate in your budget until the clinic puts any inclusion in writing.

Aftercare and Follow-Up When You Fly Home

Mediren says Dr. Ben personally follows up with each patient and provides medication support. It doesn't describe a follow-up process for patients who have left Thailand.

So ask which appointments or washes the clinic wants you to attend before choosing a return flight. Request written care instructions and a plan for contacting the treating team afterward.

For follow-up at home, ask whether you can send photographs or arrange video calls. Have the clinic specify who reviews them and when you should expect a reply.

Also ask what to do if you need an examination after leaving Thailand. A named contact and clear instructions are more useful for planning than a general promise of ongoing care.

Location and Getting There

The addresses below come from Mediren's contact page.

BranchCityPublished address
Main BranchNonthaburi99/179 Liabkhlongprapa Road (Chaeng Watthana - Si Saman), Pakkret, Nonthaburi 11120
Century BranchBangkokNo. 15, Century Plaza, 4th Floor, Phayathai Road, Phayathai Subdistrict, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok 10400
Mediren by MDR Clinic (Ubon Ratchathani Branch)Ubon Ratchathani702/1 Chayangkun Road, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ubon Ratchathani 34000

The main branch is in Nonthaburi and the Century branch is in Bangkok. The clinic says Century is next to BTS Victory Monument Station.

Ask which branch will host your surgery before booking accommodation.

Have the clinic name the location for any return visits too. A Bangkok consultation address alone doesn't tell you where each part of your care will take place.

Mediren Clinic Reviews: What Patients Report

Positive and Mixed Reports

The 26 September 2017 Pantip poster described FUE repair after an unsuccessful procedure at another, unnamed clinic. Their account included forehead swelling for two to three days and shedding in the first two months. They wrote that the hair had fully grown in by month eight and that they were more satisfied than they had expected.

For more recent comments, Thai Facial Clinic reproduces excerpts labeled as Google reviews. The excerpt attributed to AJ Hyde, shown as six months ago, says they felt well looked after.

Kani Vara, shown as a month ago, described private rooms and no long waits. Ch Ro, shown as four months ago, praised staff attentiveness, while Korphai Intapasart, shown as six months ago, described advice on preparation and aftercare.

Seksan Ruangsaen, shown as five months ago, described a second transplant at the clinic and satisfaction with growth a year afterward. These relative dates are the directory's labels; it doesn't give exact posting dates for the excerpts.

Complaints, Criticism and Doubts

There is no usable negative Mediren account in the available patient material. The accessible excerpts are positive, and the detailed repair account is from 2017, so they leave little basis for assessing complaints today.

If a review raises a concern that matters to your case, take the issue to the surgeon. Ask how it would be handled under your treatment plan, including any follow-up charges.

What the Reports Can't Tell You

The directory reproduces snippets rather than complete patient histories. The patient posts cited here don't provide a clinic-wide result rate, a reliable payment range, or a full account of who performs each surgical step.

Mediren's review-related discount also makes the terms of any review arrangement relevant. There is no basis here to say that any named reviewer received that discount.

Mediren Clinic Compared With Other Bangkok Clinics

If you're also considering HairTran or Absolute Hair Clinic, compare written plans for the same treatment area and shaving preference. Different graft counts need an explanation before their totals can help you choose.

Mediren's published starting figures leave the applicable technique and inclusions to settle with the clinic. So for each clinic you contact, put the named surgeon and follow-up arrangements beside the total price.

We would also compare the branch where surgery will happen. For Mediren, choosing between the published Bangkok and Nonthaburi locations is a separate question from choosing a doctor.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay a Deposit

Keep the answers with the quote and appointment details. If an answer changes during consultation, ask for the treatment plan to reflect it before paying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the doctor at Mediren Clinic?

Mediren calls its lead doctor Dr. Ben Butwong, MD. ISHRS lists her as Dr. Benjawan Butwong, a Full Member who joined in 2011. Ask the clinic to name the doctor assigned to your appointment and provide their Thai registration details.

How much does a hair transplant at Mediren Clinic cost?

The clinic publishes different starting prices on its English and Thai pages, plus an FUE-DHI package. The dated table above gives each amount and its source. Ask which applies to your proposed technique and graft count; no usable patient-reported payment figure is available to compare against it.

Does Mediren offer long-hair or non-shaven transplants?

Mediren's male and female service pages list both options. Ask which areas would be trimmed for your procedure and have the clinic name the technique on the quote. The service name alone doesn't settle your individual treatment plan.

Can I arrange a consultation from abroad?

Mediren publishes English contact details. One Sam Wong review excerpt reproduced by Thai Facial Clinic describes a LINE video consultation from abroad. Ask the clinic whether it offers that arrangement for your case and what still needs an in-person assessment.

What do Mediren Clinic reviews say, good and bad?

An older Pantip repair account describes swelling and early shedding. The directory excerpts are positive about care and communication. No usable negative account is available in this material, so it can't give a balanced picture of complaints or predict your experience.

What follow-up will I get after flying home?

Mediren says Dr. Ben personally follows up with patients, but its cited page doesn't set out an overseas follow-up schedule. Before booking, ask for the contact details of the clinician reviewing your progress, the appointment schedule, and any follow-up charges. Also ask what happens if you need an examination in your home country.

Is Mediren Clinic Right for You?

If keeping your hair long matters, Mediren publishes non-shaven and long-hair services. The consultation needs to establish the actual trimming plan and whether that option fits the work you're asking for.

If you need repair after previous surgery, its own page makes donor assessment a condition of planning. Ask the doctor to explain the limits in your case before deciding how much correction to pursue.

If you need a Bangkok appointment, ask specifically about Century. If you need a fixed budget and follow-up from abroad, get those terms in writing before making travel plans.
