Ultima Hair Center Bangkok: Dr. Ming, Prices and What to Ask
"I went to many places and ended up here. The previous places liked to sell lots of courses, but at Ultima you pay once and it is done." That's one of the testimonials Ultima Hair Center picked for its own Thai homepage (translated from Thai, undated).
Ultima Hair Center is a hair transplant clinic in Bang Kapi, Bangkok. Our Bangkok hair transplant guide covers the city's other clinics, prices and recovery. One surgeon is named across Ultima's English site: Dr. Paphon Asawaworarit, known as Dr. Ming.
Its cost page and FAQ give no price of its own. So the figures on its cost page are a guide rather than a quote. It lists FUE, FUT and a combined technique, and says it repairs transplants done at other clinics.
This page sets out what Ultima publishes about its surgeon, techniques, prices and booking. It also covers what the public registers show and the questions to ask before you pay anything.

Dr. Paphon Asawaworarit (Dr. Ming): What the Clinic Says
Ultima's about page opens in his voice: "My name is Dr. Paphon Asawaworarit, a hair restoration specialist at Ultima Hair Center in Bangkok, Thailand."
The same page says "Dr. Paphon Asawaworarit, also known as Dr. Ming, is a hair transplant surgeon certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) with over 9 years of experience."
The clinic spells his name two other ways. Its cost page header says "Dr. Papon Asawaworarit" and its ISHRS page says "Paphon Asawaworarith, MD".
So search every spelling when you look him up.
Education and memberships, as the about page lists them
| Year | What the clinic lists |
|---|---|
| 2004 | "Doctor of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University" |
| 2008 | "Master's degree of Science, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University" |
| 2010 | "Thai Board Of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University" |
| 2019 | "America Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)" certificate |
So by the clinic's own list, his specialist board is in ophthalmology, which is eye medicine. His hair restoration certificate dates from 2019.
The page also lists memberships of the ABHRS, the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), the Thai Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand. Its Thai site repeats the same list.
What the Public Registers Show
The ABHRS describes itself as "internationally recognized as the only board certification focusing on hair restoration surgery for physicians worldwide". It says every Diplomate has passed "both extensive written and oral examinations", and that it removes Diplomates who stop meeting its requirements from its website.
The ABHRS directory, read 24 October 2026, lists Paphon Asawaworarit with Ultima's address, phone number and email. In the text we read, his entry didn't show the "Diplomate" label shown beside some other entries. Open the directory on ABHRS and check his entry yourself.
The clinic says he is an ISHRS member. The ISHRS keeps a Find a Doctor page on ISHRS, where you can search each spelling of his name.
Any doctor licensed in Thailand can be looked up by first name and surname, in Thai or English, on the Thai Medical Council register.
Check the ABHRS, ISHRS and Thai Medical Council listings yourself before you pay a deposit.
Figures That Differ Across the Clinic's Pages
Ultima's pages describe ABHRS certification as rare, but the headcount changes from page to page. Sometimes on the same page.
- The about page says "Fewer than 300 doctors worldwide hold this certification." Further down it says "Only 200+ doctors worldwide have earned this distinction."
- The American Board page says "Today, fewer than 200 doctors worldwide hold this elite certification."
Its FUT, hairline lowering, eyebrow, revision and American Board pages say "Dr. Ming is one of only 13 physicians in Thailand certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)". The ABHRS directory doesn't give a count for Thailand, so that number is the clinic's own.
The American Board page sends readers to the ABHRS physician directory to look up his name. So the directory itself is the place to check.
Who Does Which Step
Ultima's about page FAQ asks "Does Dr. Ming perform the procedure himself?" Its answer: "Yes. He is hands-on with every step to ensure precision and quality."
Its reviews post goes further: "Every step done by the doctor himself - not assistants". Both are the clinic's own statements. So get them in writing.
For context, the ABHRS ethics standard for its Diplomates says making the extraction incisions "is a non-delegable act", and "the creation of incisions for placement of grafts is also non-delegable". Both are a doctor's job, and placing the grafts isn't on that list.
The ISHRS says grafts are placed "most often by the trained staff". Most often, not always. So staff placing grafts is normal practice by the ISHRS's own description, and Ultima says its doctor does all of it.
Ask Ultima in writing: "Which steps will the surgeon do, and which will staff do?"
Keep the answer with your quote. Our FUE guide for Bangkok explains what each step involves.
Techniques Ultima Offers
Ultima's homepage lists its services in this order: "1. FUT Hair Transplant 2. FUE Hair Transplant 3. Combined FUT & FUE Technique", then work for men, women and LGBT patients, eyebrows, beards, scar coverage and repair.
In the ISHRS's words, FUT means "harvesting a linear strip of tissue" that is closed with sutures or staples and cut into grafts. FUE means "removing individual follicular units (natural clusters of hairs grouped in 1-4 hairs each)".
Its Thai FAQ says "Ultima Hair Center is one of a few clinics that can perform the FUT technique." (translated from Thai). That's the clinic's description of itself.
The same FAQ says "FUE and FUT are the main techniques for taking hair grafts out of the donor area, while DHI is a method or technique related to the step of bringing the grafts into the transplant area." (translated from Thai). The English menu has no DHI page.
Its FUE page says a procedure takes "4 to 8 hours, depending on the number of grafts."
On density, the Thai FAQ says "in zones where there is not much hair, we often recommend a hair transplant density of about 50 grafts per 1 square centimetre." (translated from Thai). That's the clinic's figure, and your own plan depends on your donor area. Your number may differ.
Shaving
The about page FAQ answers "Do I need to shave my head?" with "In most cases, yes, but partial or no-shave options are available."
The FUE page is narrower: "Usually yes, but partial shaving or unshaven options may be available for small areas." If you want to keep your hair long, send photos of your hair loss and ask Ultima what it would shave for your case.
Other Procedures on Its Menu
The site menu prints these headings: "FOREHEAD REDUCTION (HAIR LINE LOWERING)", "MALE HAIR TRANSPLANT", "MOUSTACHE BEARD TRANSPLANT", "TRANSGENDER HAIR TRANSPLANT", "FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT", "EYEBROW TRANSPLANT", "SCAR REPAIR HAIR TRANSPLANT" and "HAIR TRANSPLANT REVISION REPAIR".
Its hairline lowering page says the work takes "Usually 1,000-2,000 grafts, depending on your hairline shape and density goals." and "Usually 4-6 hours, depending on the number of grafts."
Its eyebrow page says "Typically 200-400 grafts per brow." and "Around 2-4 hours, depending on the number of grafts."
The menu has no page for PRP, lasers, exosomes or stem-cell treatment. So if you want any of those alongside a transplant, ask before you book.
Repair of Other Clinics' Transplants
Ultima's revision repair page says "At Ultima Hair Center, Dr. Ming specializes in correcting and redesigning failed or unsatisfying results - using advanced methods for a softer, more natural look." That's the clinic's claim about its own work.
The page lists a reason to wait: "Haven't fully healed from your previous transplant (usually needs 6-12 months)".
On size, it answers "How many grafts are needed for repair?" with "It varies, but often 500-2,000 grafts depending on the issue." Yours could fall outside it.
On cost, it answers "Is a repair more expensive than a regular transplant?" with "It can be, due to the complexity and additional techniques required."
A repair works on a donor area that has already been used once. Before you book one, ask for three things:
- Dated photos of Ultima's own repair cases, before and after
- A written plan for your donor area: how many grafts it would take and from where
- Who will do each step, and the price in writing
Prices
Ultima's cost page and FAQ give no price of its own, in English or Thai. It says the doctor assesses your case first. So you won't know the cost until after the consultation.
Its Thai FAQ says "Dr. Ming will consider the size of the area to be transplanted, design the hairline and assess the condition of the donor area" before "announcing the cost according to the plan that has been set." (translated from Thai).
Asked about 3,000 grafts, it says "even if it is specified as 3,000 grafts, the transplant plan should still be assessed before the cost can be announced appropriately." (translated from Thai).
The English FAQ says "Pricing is typically based on the number of grafts required. We provide a clear, all-inclusive quotation rather than generic package deals."
It also says "Our pricing is transparent and includes the procedure, medications, and post-operative follow-ups. A clear cost estimate is provided after medical evaluation, with no hidden fees."
The General Guide on Its Cost Page
Ultima's cost page gives "a general guide to typical hair transplant pricing based on the number of grafts", read 24 October 2026. It presents these as typical Thailand prices, and doesn't call them its own rates.
| Grafts | The clinic's general guide | Our conversion |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | approx. ฿50,000 - 100,000 | about $1,510 - $3,020 |
| 2,000 | approx. ฿100,000 - 200,000 | about $3,020 - $6,040 |
| 3,000 | approx. ฿150,000 - 300,000 | about $4,530 - $9,050 |
Dollars at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026). Rounded to the nearest $10.
The same page adds "Prices may vary depending on the technique used, doctor's experience, clinic reputation, and your specific hair condition."
Its View on Flat-Rate Packages
The cost page says "Some clinics offer flat-rate pricing for hair transplants, which can seem more affordable at first. However, these packages usually use the FUE technique, which is not ideal for extracting more than 2,500 grafts."
It goes on: "That's why high-quality clinics rarely promote flat-rate packages." Both lines are Ultima's opinion.
Whatever a clinic charges, ask how many grafts it plans to take, by which technique, and what happens to the price if the count changes on the day.
What Patients Report Paying at Other Bangkok Clinics
We didn't find a patient-reported price for Ultima. For context from other clinics, patients report paying ฿36-123 per graft ($1.09-$3.71) across five Bangkok clinics (31 reports and quotes, 2023 to 2026).
Most reports at Absolute, Bangkok Hair Clinic and Hairsmith fall at ฿65-90 per graft ($1.96-$2.72). None of those figures is Ultima's.
Our Bangkok hair transplant cost guide sets out the published prices clinic by clinic.
Payment
The English FAQ says "We accept bank transfers, cash and credit cards. Payment details are clearly explained in advance to ensure a smooth and secure transaction."
The pages we could read publish no deposit amount and no refund terms. So ask for both in writing before you book flights.
Consultation and Booking
Ultima's FAQ says "Online consultation directly with the doctor is available prior to your visit. This allows proper assessment, planning, and clear expectations before you travel to Thailand."
The about page describes it as a video call: "Perfect for those outside Bangkok or abroad - video call from wherever you are."
On language, the FAQ says "We have English-speaking staff, and the doctor communicates directly with international patients in English, both before and after the procedure." The Thai homepage offers a "Free consultation with no cost." (translated from Thai).
The contact page prints these channels:
- Phone: +66 64 426 4555
- WhatsApp: +66638819666
- LINE: @ultima
The reviews post and the ABHRS directory give the email as [email protected].
Its hours are "Mon to Fri: 10 am - 7pm / Saturday: 10 am - 7pm / Sunday: Booking".
Ask for the next surgery date with Dr. Ming at your first contact.
Location and Getting There
The contact page gives the address as JW Park, 199/35-36, Krungthep Kreetha Road, Hua Mak, Bang Kapi, Bangkok, Thailand 10240.
On hotels, the FAQ says "We can't book a hotel for you, but we can recommend some good hotels near the clinic." The pages we read don't mention an airport transfer or car service.
Our guide to where to stay in Bangkok for a hair transplant covers picking a hotel around your clinic days.
What Patients Report
We didn't find patient reports of Ultima outside the clinic's own site when we researched this page in October 2026.
Ultima's reviews post is titled "Hair Transplant in Thailand Reviews: Why Dr. Ming at Ultima Hair Center Shines". It's the clinic's own article about itself.
Its Thai homepage carries testimonials the clinic selected, anonymous and undated. One opens: "My case was a scar-coverage transplant case." (translated from Thai).
Later the same testimonial says: "The consultation was very good, the aftercare, the quick answers to questions, very attentive. The doctor is very friendly." (translated from Thai).
A clinic picks the testimonials it shows. So ask Ultima for dated before-and-after photos showing results in patients with hair loss like yours.
Aftercare the Clinic Describes
The Thai FAQ says "the patient can return to normal daily life within 1-3 days" and that its "Leading Aftercare program" aims to help "the wound heals fast and swelling and bruising are reduced." (translated from Thai).
The English FUE page gives a different window: "Most patients return to normal activities within 2-5 days." Some take longer. So ask which applies to your plan.
On stay length, the FAQ says "We generally recommend staying in Thailand for 3-5 days. This allows time for the procedure, post-operative care, and follow-up with the doctor before traveling home."
On flying, it says "Most patients can safely fly home within 2-3 days after the procedure." That's the clinic's claim, and the right timing for you is your own surgeon's call.
For follow-up, it says "An in-person follow-up is typically scheduled before you return home." Where it may be inconvenient to travel for follow-up, patients "can send photos for assessment every 2-3 months."
On pain, the Thai FAQ says "most patients only feel a little when the anaesthetic is injected" (translated from Thai). Most, not all. The AAD says "Most patients remain awake during the entire surgery and need only an anesthesia that makes the scalp numb."
Follow your own surgeon's aftercare instructions, and ask your own doctor before changing any medicine.
Our Bangkok recovery guide walks through the first days after surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the surgeon at Ultima Hair Center?
Ultima's English site names one surgeon: Dr. Paphon Asawaworarit, known as Dr. Ming. Its about page lists a medical degree from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, in 2004, the Thai Board of Ophthalmology in 2010 and an ABHRS certificate in 2019. The clinic spells his name three ways across its pages, so search each spelling on the public registers.
Is Dr. Ming certified by the ABHRS?
The clinic says he is, and lists a 2019 ABHRS certificate. The ABHRS directory lists him with the clinic's details, but the text we read on 24 October 2026 didn't show the "Diplomate" label it shows for some other entries. Check his entry at abhrs.org yourself.
How much does Ultima Hair Center charge?
Ultima's cost page and FAQ give no price of its own, and it says Dr. Ming assesses your case before giving an all-inclusive quote. Its cost page carries a general Thailand guide, such as about ฿100,000-200,000 for 2,000 grafts, which it doesn't present as its own rates. Ask for a written quote against your own graft count.
Does Dr. Ming do the procedure himself?
The clinic says yes: "He is hands-on with every step to ensure precision and quality." The ABHRS says the incisions are a doctor's job, and the ISHRS says grafts are placed "most often by the trained staff". Ask Ultima in writing which steps the surgeon will do and which staff will do.
Does Ultima repair transplants done at other clinics?
It says so: its revision page says Dr. Ming "specializes in correcting and redesigning failed or unsatisfying results" and that a repair often takes "500-2,000 grafts depending on the issue". It also says a repair "can be" more expensive. Ask for dated photos of its own repair cases before you book.
Do I need to shave my head at Ultima?
Usually, according to the clinic: its about page says "In most cases, yes, but partial or no-shave options are available." Its FUE page says unshaven options "may be available for small areas". Send photos and ask what it would shave for your case.
