HE Clinic vs Dr. Top: Surgeons, Prices and Booking Compared (2026)

If you're choosing between HE Clinic and Dr. Top for a hair transplant in Bangkok, there's little first-person detail on either. The patient posts we found are few and early, so this page compares what each clinic publishes.

Both clinics publish baht prices. HE Clinic lists graft tiers for its shaven and long-hair transplants. Dr. Top lists "from" prices, most of them for up to 2,000 grafts, with a charge for each extra 500. Dr. Top's doctor, Dr. Nuttorn Narupaves, has a public listing as a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). HE lists Dr. Dao's certifications on its own pages. Both publish a no-shave option with a price. Only Dr. Top publishes a guarantee.

Neither publishes a waiting time or deposit terms, and neither comes out ahead overall. Which one fits depends on what you need settled before you fly: a price, a doctor you can look up, a video call or a no-shave plan.

Who Each Clinic Is

HE Clinic

HE Clinic calls itself a private clinic for men in Bangkok's Thonglor district. It's on the second floor of Fifty-Fifth Thonglor, 90 Thong Lo Road, and says advance booking is required.

Hair restoration is one of its service areas, and its hair pages call Dr. Dao their lead hair doctor. Those pages don't say when the clinic started doing hair transplants.

Dr. Top

Dr. Top's English pages sit on The Skin Clinic's site, which presents the service as "Dr. Top Hair Hospital by The Skin Clinic." Its contact page lists a hair transplant clinic on Soi Silom 17, a hair transplant clinic branch on Rama 2 and the Dr. Top Hair Transplant Hospital on Soi Sukhumvit 62. Its prices are on a separate pricing page.

The clinic's 2025 price article says its hair transplants are done by "an American Board-certified doctor with over 20 years of experience." That's the clinic's own description. Its pages don't give a year the clinic began hair work.

The Surgeons and Their Credentials, as Each Clinic Publishes Them

Get the name of the doctor who will treat you on your written quote, then check what you can yourself.

Dr. Napasorn Tiwongkum (Dr. Dao), HE Clinic

HE Clinic's doctors page names Dr. Napasorn Tiwongkum, known as Dr. Dao, as its hair restoration doctor. It says she has "extensive expertise in FUE and sharp-implanter techniques."

HE's hair page says she "holds certifications from NHT Turkey, the Korean College of Cosmetic Surgery, and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery." Those are HE's statements, and its pages don't point to a directory entry for her. Ask HE what each certification is and where you can look it up.

Dr. Nuttorn Narupaves, Dr. Top

The clinic's medical team page names Dr. Nuttorn Narupaves. It lists a "Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)" and an "Associate Member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery" in Dr. Nuttorn's profile.

The ABHRS directory lists Nuttorn Narupaves as a Diplomate, with certification year 2023. That listing is public, so you can check it yourself before you book. The associate membership of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) is the clinic's statement.

Technique and Equipment

HE Clinic describes an implanter pen transplant, which it also calls DHI. Grafts come from the back and sides of the scalp, and HE says the extraction step is the same as standard FUE. They're then placed with a hand-held implanter pen, "commonly called a Choi implanter." For the shaven version, the recipient area is shaved.

Dr. Top's pages name four options: FUE, DHI, Long Hair FUI and Short Hair FUI. Its Long Hair FUI page says that technique is "based on FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or FUI Implanter" and doesn't require shaving the donor area at the back of the head.

FUE means grafts are taken out one at a time from the donor area. Neither clinic lists FUT, the strip method. The names vary, so ask each clinic how grafts will be taken out and put in for your case. Our DHI guide for Bangkok explains the terms.

Who Does Which Step

A hair transplant has three hands-on surgical stages: taking grafts out (extraction), making the recipient sites (sometimes called channel opening), and placing the grafts. Clinics differ in how much doctor involvement each stage gets.

HE Clinic says it was built on "every treatment performed by a doctor," not delegated to a technician. Its hair page says the procedure is performed by Dr. Dao, under local anesthesia.

Dr. Top's medical team page says "Our doctors handle every step of the procedure themselves 100%," from designing the hairline through extracting and implanting the grafts.

Both are the clinics' own claims. For context, the ISHRS says the key with FUE is that the procedure is "physician-driven and performed," while grafts are placed "most often by the trained staff."

So a doctor-led promise is worth pinning down. Ask each clinic to write who will do each surgical step for you: extraction, recipient sites and graft placement.

Published Prices and What Is Included

HE Clinic's shaven prices

HE Clinic's hair transplant page lists these prices for its shaven implanter pen transplant, read 17 October 2026.

Dollars are our conversion at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026), rounded to the nearest $10.

HE says each package is "priced by graft count, with no other costs or charges," and that your graft requirement is confirmed at assessment. It doesn't publish an itemized list of what that covers, such as medication or follow-up visits. Ask for one with your quote.

Dr. Top's published prices

Dr. Top's pricing page lists these prices in baht, read 17 October 2026. Each is shown as "from," and the first three are listed under "Standard FUE / DHI."

Dr. Top says "Your exact number is confirmed in a free analysis." Its page lists what every procedure includes: a pre-operative check-up, a digital 3D before and after scan, "Daily post-op cleanse + consult x4," "All painkillers, meds & antibiotics," a take-home hair growth pack, a video record of your procedure and "No hidden graft fees."

Its contact page says the doctor gives "a detailed treatment plan and cost estimate" at the first consultation. Treat each figure as a starting price and ask for your own estimate in writing, with the graft count.

Shaven or Non-Shaven: What Each Charges

Both clinics offer a transplant without shaving the area being treated, and both publish a baht price for it.

HE Clinic's long hair page lists these prices, read 17 October 2026.

Same conversion as above. HE's own side-by-side on that page puts 1,000 grafts at ฿119,000 with long hair against ฿99,000 shaven. HE says the long hair version costs more because working around preserved hair "is slower and more technically demanding."

HE also says "some donor shaving is still needed": limited shaving at the back to take grafts, covered by the longer hair above it. The area being treated keeps its hair.

Dr. Top's pricing page lists long hair, no shaving, from ฿130,000 for up to 2,000 grafts, plus ฿20,000 per extra 500, and labels it "No shaving or cutting." Its Long Hair FUI page says its technique "does not require shaving the donor area at the back of the head."

So the two clinics describe no-shave work differently. Ask each to mark on your photos exactly what they would shave or trim, at the back and on top. Our non-shaven hair transplant guide covers what the label can mean.

Waiting Times and Booking Terms

Neither clinic publishes a waiting time for surgery, a deposit amount or a refund rule.

HE Clinic says advance booking is required. It also says that for around 2,000 grafts you should "plan on spending most of the day at the clinic." That's how long the procedure day runs, not how soon you can get one.

The Dr. Top pages we read don't publish booking terms.

So neither can be called faster to book. Before you buy flights, get three things in writing from each: the next surgery date with the named doctor, the deposit to hold it, and what happens to that deposit if you cancel or the plan changes at the in-person consultation.

How You Reach Each Doctor

HE Clinic offers a free assessment. You fill in a form and upload photos of your hair from the front, top, sides and back, or send them on WhatsApp. HE says Dr. Dao reviews them herself.

Dr. Top's contact page says it offers "online initial consultations via video call" for people living outside the province or overseas. Its Long Hair FUI page lists a free consultation with its hair transplant doctors and a WhatsApp link.

So HE starts with photos, and Dr. Top offers a video call. HE's hair page doesn't mention video calls, so if you want to speak to Dr. Dao before you travel, ask for it when you send the photos.

Send both clinics the same photos and the same description of what bothers you. If the graft estimates differ, ask each doctor to show the area they plan to cover.

Aftercare, Follow-Up and Guarantees

HE Clinic's hair pages give general recovery guidance. They don't publish a follow-up schedule, check-ins after you fly home or a guarantee.

Dr. Top's Long Hair FUI page lists a "1-year post-procedure guarantee: if transplanted hair doesn't grow, re-transplantation is free." That's a clinic policy, not a promise of a result.

The same line is on its FUI service page too. Ask whether it applies to the technique you're quoted, who decides that hair hasn't grown, and whether you'd have to travel back for the repeat procedure.

What Patients Report About HE Clinic

Patient posts about HE Clinic's hair work are few.

A MyMediTravel review dated 12 March 2024, shown under the name Li W., says: "Couldn't be happier with my hair transplant results at He Clinic." The reviewer mentions asking for a slightly asymmetrical hairline. The review gives no procedure date, graft count, doctor or price.

That's one short review, so it tells you little about results. If you're considering HE, ask for photos of past patients at 12 months, ideally with hair like yours.

What Patients Report About Dr. Top

Two September 2026 Reddit posts name the clinic. One, titled "Dr Top Thailand," opens "Just got my Hair transplant from Dr Top in Thailand." The other names "Dr Top Bangkok The skin clinic." We can't confirm whether one person wrote both.

Both are early posts, written soon after surgery, so they say little about a result.

A ThailandClinics directory page shows a Google review from a patient who had a hairline transplant plus a Regenera treatment at the crown. The reviewer wrote: "Physically minimal discomfort though there is severe head swelling." They said the swelling had cleared by day eight, with updates dated 26 May and 11 June 2026. No price or graft count is given, and it refers to "Dr TOP and his team."

In June 2026, a Reddit user planning a July trip to Bangkok wrote that they had "looked at some other clinics but haven't been able to find any verified reviews," and named Dr. Top's doctor among them. So for Dr. Top too, ask for photos of past patients at 12 months.

How to Choose Between Them

Neither clinic is ahead on everything. Pick by the criteria that matter most to you.

• You want a price before you talk to anyone. Both publish baht prices. HE Clinic lists graft tiers for shaven and long-hair work. Dr. Top lists "from" prices, most of them for up to 2,000 grafts, with a charge per extra 500. Compare them against a written quote for your graft count.
• You want a doctor you can look up on a register. Dr. Nuttorn's ABHRS Diplomate listing is public. Ask HE where you can look up each of Dr. Dao's certifications.
• You want a video call before you fly. Dr. Top says it offers one to patients abroad. HE starts with a photo review, so ask for a call.
• You don't want to shave. Both offer and price a long-hair option. HE says limited donor shaving is usually still needed; Dr. Top says its Long Hair FUI needs none. Get both answers marked on your photos.
• You want a written guarantee. Dr. Top publishes a one-year re-transplant policy on its Long Hair FUI page. HE's hair pages publish none.
• Your dates are fixed. Neither publishes a waiting time, so ask both for a surgery date before you plan the trip.
