MEDI HAIR Clinic Reviews: Surgeons, Prices and What Patients Report (2026)

In a July 2024 Reddit discussion, a MEDI HAIR patient said the clinic had offered medication first or a transplant of roughly 1,200 grafts. They chose surgery and described a positive experience about two years later.

For readers comparing hair transplants in Bangkok, MEDI HAIR Clinic publishes shaven, non-shaven and long-hair FUE programs. It names Dr. Aphakorn Laochunsuwan as its founder but publishes no numerical procedure price on its reviewed pages.

The patient wrote: "They said I could try with medication first or 1200 should be enough. I did go ahead with it." Their r/Thailand account, posted on July 9, 2024, describes an individual decision after consultation.

We compare what clinics publish and what patients report; we haven't visited MEDI HAIR or had a procedure there. Clinics cannot pay to be listed or ranked higher on AsiaPatient.

Who the Surgeons Are

What the Clinic Says About Each Doctor

MEDI HAIR names Dr. Aphakorn Laochunsuwan as its founder and calls her Dr. Aim. Its Shaven FUE page uses Dr. Emily for the same full name.

So use the full name when asking who will operate. A booking under a nickname alone leaves you with less to compare against a doctor's directory entry.

The clinic also displays professional-history blocks without clear names in the page text. Ask for the full name and credentials of the doctor assigned to your case.

What the ABHRS and ISHRS Listings Show

The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) lists Aphakorn Laochunsuwan as a Diplomate, with MEDI HAIR at Gaysorn Village as the practice address.

The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) lists her as an ISHRS Full Member, with "ABHRS Diplomate" under Awards. These are the organizations' own entries for the named doctor.

ABHRS also lists Kanyawat Chanwaowarm as a Diplomate at MEDI HAIR (read 17 October 2026).

Her ISHRS profile lists both follicular unit excision (FUE) and follicular unit transplantation (FUT) under procedures performed. MEDI HAIR's reviewed service pages describe FUE programs, so ask the clinic directly if you're considering FUT.

How to Check It Yourself

Search the two directories using "Aphakorn Laochunsuwan", then match that name against your consultation and booking paperwork. If another doctor is proposed, ask for that doctor's full name and registration details before comparing qualifications.

For the facility itself, request the clinic license number and the branch it covers. MEDI HAIR's reviewed pages don't publish that number, and a doctor's ABHRS entry doesn't supply it.

Who Does Which Step

In the Clinic's Own Words

The Long Hair FUE page says a doctor harvests hair from the back of the head. It doesn't assign every remaining surgical step to a named doctor or assistant.

The Non-Shaven FUE page describes extracting and implanting grafts without identifying who performs each step. That leaves questions about who makes the recipient-site openings, prepares the grafts and places them.

In Patients' Words

A prospective patient who named Kanyawat Chanwaowarm (Dr. Pui) described the role split explained during consultation in an r/HairTransplants post dated April 2, 2025:

"The doctor answered that she would perform the donor hair extraction and make the holes in the recipient area. The assistants will be responsible for putting the hair in the recipient area."

The patient in the July 2024 r/Thailand discussion wrote: "Majority of the procedure was done by the doctor herself."

The consultation account gives a more detailed division of work than the clinic's pages. So ask for that division for your own procedure, including which doctor performs each surgical step and which tasks assistants handle.

Techniques Offered

MEDI HAIR names three programs: Medi Shaven FUE, Medi Non-Shaven FUE and Medi Long Hair FUE. FUE means follicular unit excision; the clinic describes removing hair follicles from the donor area and implanting them where hair is thinning.

Its Non-Shaven FUE page describes a procedure without head shaving. Its Long Hair FUE page describes transplanting long hair.

If keeping your hairstyle matters, ask what each program means for your donor area and the area receiving grafts. Get the proposed trimming plan alongside the graft estimate; our non-shaven FUE guide for Bangkok gives you questions to compare across clinics.

MEDI HAIR also says it uses an implanter pen, a tool for placing grafts. Its reviewed pages don't give a separate DHI package price, so ask what any DHI wording on your quote includes.

The Shaven FUE page mentions eyebrow transplantation and using mustache or chest hair. These are examples within its technique description; ask about availability and suitability if you're considering work beyond a scalp transplant.

MEDI HAIR Price: What the Clinic Publishes and What Patients Report Paying or Being Quoted

What the Clinic Publishes

MEDI HAIR publishes no numerical procedure price on the clinic pages reviewed. Its Non-Shaven FUE fee section says the cost depends on the number of grafts, without giving a rate or total (read 17 October 2026).

So you need a quote against your proposed technique and graft count to budget for MEDI HAIR. The patient figures below describe different cases, currencies and years.

Patient-Reported Prices by Date

Every row is patient-reported. The date is the post or comment date, and the table separates a reported payment from an offer made before surgery.

Post or comment dateDoctor named by the posterPatient-reported amount and graft countWhat the account describes
July 9, 2024Not namedAbout 100,000 baht for roughly 1,200 grafts, plus ongoing medicationA historical no-shave procedure described as about two years earlier, which the poster said cost more; the patient also recalled a promotional PRP session. r/Thailand
April 2, 2025Dr. Pui (the poster names Kanyawat Chanwaowarm)149,900 baht for an estimated 2,000 graftsAn FUE consultation quote. r/HairTransplants
August 11, 2025A doctor the poster calls Dr Tanadol (Aob)AUD 5,500 for 2,700 graftsAn offer described as including PRP, with extra grafts described as free. r/HairTransplants
July 11, 2026Dr. EmilyAbout CAD 4,000 for 1,700 graftsA commenter reporting an FUE procedure with Dr. Emily and writing at month eight. r/HairTransplants

PRP means platelet-rich plasma. Two accounts mention it alongside surgery, but their wording describes a historical promotion and an individual offer.

The AUD and CAD amounts remain in the currencies the posters used. These reports don't establish a current MEDI HAIR rate, and the quoted inclusions differ.

One prospective patient reported that the doctor they called Dr Tanadol (Aob) was not ABHRS-registered at the time and that Dr. Emily was quoted higher. This is a patient report, not a finding about the clinic or either doctor. r/HairTransplants

What to Ask for in Writing

Ask for the technique, estimated graft count, currency and total on the same quote. Have the clinic spell out what happens to the bill if the planned count changes.

List optional treatments separately. A quote that mentions PRP or Regenera should say whether each treatment is included, what it costs if added, and whether you can decline it.

We'd also get the medication and follow-up terms before comparing totals. A procedure quote without those details leaves part of your expected spending unresolved.

Booking, Consultation and Deposit

MEDI HAIR advertises a free online consultation (read 17 October 2026). Its contact page publishes telephone numbers and a LINE link.

The reviewed pages don't state a deposit amount or waiting time. Refund and cancellation terms aren't published either.

So ask for the next available date with the named doctor and the payment terms together.

Before arranging travel, establish whether your online consultation is with the operating doctor and whether an in-person assessment could change the plan. The reply should also identify the branch for your appointment.

Get the cancellation and rescheduling terms before paying a deposit.

Keep the quote and the booking terms together. Ask what happens if your travel dates change or the proposed procedure changes after the in-person assessment.

What Is Included

The clinic's reviewed pages don't publish a standard package list covering medication, hair washing, accommodation or transfers. A patient account can tell you what one person received, but your written quote needs its own list.

The July 2024 patient recalled a PRP session as part of a promotion. The August 2025 prospective patient also reported PRP in an offer, without describing a completed procedure.

One reviewer on MEDI HAIR's review page described seven days of free hair washing. The page doesn't display an individual date for that review.

A separate reviewer described learning about an additional Regenera charge on procedure day, followed by a discount. Ask about any proposed Regenera treatment before the appointment, including whether it's optional and how it changes your total.

Aftercare and Follow-Up When You Fly Home

MEDI HAIR says a team of medical professionals handles post-operative care. Its reviewed pages don't describe a remote follow-up schedule or how long international patients can contact that team.

Before booking flights, ask how many return visits your procedure requires and which branch handles them. The hair-washing review above doesn't tell you the schedule for your case.

For care after you leave Bangkok, get a named contact and ask how concerns reach the doctor. Have the clinic explain whether planned reviews use photographs, calls or another route, and what to do if you need an examination at home.

Our Bangkok recovery guide covers the wider travel and recovery questions. Your own clinic should give you written instructions for the procedure you're having.

Location and Getting There

MEDI HAIR's contact page lists these three Bangkok branches:

Branch and floorPublished address
Gaysorn Village, Lobby Floor999 Ploenchit Rd., Lumphini, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand
Emsphere Em Tower, 8th Floor528 Sukhumvit Rd., Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand
Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, 8th Floor1 Soi Somkid, Lumphini, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand

The same page lists daily opening hours of 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. It provides a separate telephone number and map link for each branch.

Ask whether consultation, surgery and follow-up visits will happen at the same address. So choose accommodation after the clinic gives you the appointment location, and save the floor as well as the building name.

MEDI HAIR Reviews: What Patients Report

Positive and Mixed Reports

The July 2024 r/Thailand patient described friendly staff and substantial doctor involvement. About the procedure from roughly two years earlier, they wrote: "It was 2 years ago and I'm super happy with the outcome."

A commenter in an r/HairTransplants discussion, dated July 11, 2026, reported being eight months after FUE with Dr. Emily. They wrote: "It was a great experience and im super happy with my results."

The same commenter had posted on December 8, 2025, at day 40: "Currently at day 40 and everything is on schedule. Started the shedding phase a week ago." r/HairTransplants

Bara Kk, a reviewer displayed on MEDI HAIR's website, praised a staff member's English and quick responses. The individual review date isn't shown, so ask who will handle your consultation and aftercare in English.

Complaints, Criticism and Doubts

On August 11, 2025, a prospective patient who had been offered a doctor they call Dr Tanadol (Aob) wrote in r/HairTransplants: "I even asked for personal testimonial video from any of his past patients but haven’t really received any."

An October 8, 2025 r/HairTransplants poster had a similar concern: "I can’t find any detailed reviews or patient reports that aren’t from their website or the doctors’ own socials."

The mixed Regenera account on MEDI HAIR's review page raises a more concrete booking issue: "I was unaware that the treatment was considered add-ons and incurred additional costs until the day of the procedure." The reviewer also said the team offered a discount; no individual review date is displayed.

For your consultation, ask for patient accounts involving the doctor and procedure you're considering. For the quote, have every optional treatment listed before procedure day.

What the Reports Can't Tell You

The accounts include different points in individual patients' timelines. They don't provide a complete record of the clinic's outcomes or a basis for predicting your result.

The detail varies between accounts. Some omit the technique or inclusions; others have no later follow-up.

When comparing reports, look for the named doctor, procedure date and length of follow-up before treating two experiences as comparable.

MEDI HAIR Compared With Other Bangkok Clinics

MEDI HAIR's published FUE options give you a starting point for consultation, but its pages don't give you a numerical price comparison. Get the same technique and proposed graft count priced by each clinic you're considering.

Clinic or review pageWhat to compare before booking
MEDI HAIRIts named FUE program, operating doctor, division of surgical work and written total, including optional treatments
Absolute Hair ClinicUse the surgeon, price and booking sections to compare your proposed doctor's role and payment terms
HairTran ClinicUse the clinic review to compare the proposed procedure, quoted inclusions and arrangements after surgery

We'd compare the written plans before deciding on a budget. A historical payment in one review and a new quote for a different graft count won't tell you which clinic costs less for your case.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay a Deposit

The role-split questions in patient discussions and the add-on complaint are useful subjects to settle before booking. Ask the clinic to answer for the procedure and doctor on your quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MEDI HAIR licensed or accredited?

The reviewed clinic pages don't publish a clinic license number or accreditation record. ABHRS lists Dr. Aphakorn Laochunsuwan as a Diplomate, and ISHRS lists her as a Full Member, with "ABHRS Diplomate" under Awards. Ask for the clinic license covering your branch and the registration details of your operating doctor.

Who are the doctors at MEDI HAIR?

MEDI HAIR identifies Dr. Aphakorn Laochunsuwan as its founder and calls her Dr. Aim. Its Shaven FUE page calls her Dr. Emily. ABHRS also lists Kanyawat Chanwaowarm as a Diplomate at MEDI HAIR. Ask for the full name of the doctor booked for your procedure.

How much does MEDI HAIR cost?

The clinic's Non-Shaven FUE fee section says cost depends on graft count but gives no numerical rate. The dated patient-reported figures above include historical payments and consultation offers. Request a total for your technique, graft estimate and inclusions before budgeting for travel.

Does MEDI HAIR offer non-shaven or long-hair FUE?

Yes. MEDI HAIR lists both Medi Non-Shaven FUE and Medi Long Hair FUE alongside Shaven FUE. Ask which program the doctor proposes for you and whether any hair in the donor or recipient area will be trimmed.

What do MEDI HAIR patient reviews say?

The dated Reddit accounts above include positive experiences and questions about doctor involvement and finding detailed reviews. One reviewer on MEDI HAIR's website described an unexpected Regenera add-on charge. Compare accounts by doctor, procedure and follow-up length, and settle optional-treatment costs in writing.

What follow-up is available after I fly home?

MEDI HAIR says its medical team handles post-operative care. Its reviewed pages don't publish a remote follow-up schedule or duration for international patients. Ask who receives your questions, how the doctor reviews concerns and what care remains available once you're home.

Is MEDI HAIR Right for You?

If keeping your hair length is a priority, MEDI HAIR has named Non-Shaven FUE and Long Hair FUE programs to discuss. Ask the doctor which applies to your case and what shaving or trimming each involves.

If you need a firm travel budget, the published pages leave work for the consultation. Get the procedure total, optional-treatment costs and deposit terms before committing to the trip.

If you expect follow-up from home, settle the contact route and review schedule before booking. The clinic's general post-operative-care statement doesn't answer those practical questions.
